I’ve long been on the Aho for Captain train once Staal hangs them up or god forbid Rod lets him go, but after a series like that I think Slavin has a better case. Plenty of time but Slavin showed this series he is our best player.

Slavin is a guy I can see finishing his career here, aging well even after his peak, and having the temperament to be a one of the most respected captains in the league.

GD there were a lot of uncalled 100% obvious easy penalties in the 3rd, literally refused to call anything on Boston...crooked f***ing officiating. Glad our guys survived without injury! On to round 2! Now find a way to win some road games

Just got home from being on the road all day.

About to pour a very stiff victory drink and finally settle in and watch the game. Glad to see the guys make it out without any serious injuries. Watched some of Ranttas presser and couldn't be any happier for that guy.

Also caught some clips of Bergerons presser, man what a guy. If he hangs them up BOS could potentially go through a little bit of a rough patch. When Chara left Bergeron embodied what it was to lead that team, I've always felt like he really took the reigns when the big man left and took over as the heart and soul of that team. Who do they hand it off to? No Chara, no Bergeron really feels like the end of an era, with no obvious replacement. Two of the players I've always respected the most, playing for one of the teams I've always hated the most.

yep. I was thinking we MIGHT take either game 3 or 4 up there and take the series in 5, but that was the hottest team in the league aside from Florida prettymuch from mid-February on. For my money they were the second best defensive team in the league this year outside of us. They were going to be a problem for whoever drew them. The flip side is almost every Bs fan I know said that we were basically their worst case scenario draw in the first round.
