Rielly suspended 5 games -- Appeal Denied

I think the Leafs have to go back to gooning it up like 2013. Keep Matthews, one of Marner/Nylander, Rielly and add a few more skilled guys. Then they need about 8 guys who can look after themselves and their teammates, but can still play somewhat.

They need to start turning games into a shitshow. Like proper carnage. The refs will not call everything against them all season. And they won't have like 12 suspensions in one season.

They've tried to have various levels of skill throughout the lineup and they don't get more PPs, any more benefit of the doubt, or fewer suspensions.

The organization has to really lean into it. We are on the precipice on achieving absolutely nothing while having the best player to ever play for the organization.

Agreed. But it’s part of HF business model. Crapping on the Leafs is good for business as it gains alot of interest. Best thing Leaf’s fans can do is ignore the mains completely. It’s not fair but it’s the only option. It wasn’t long ago a few higher ups were joking about how it’s weird users don’t pay for the sponsorship here because we’re forced to use ad blockers. Why would we pay to support incompetence. I’ll use the ad blockers not pay and stick to discussing Leafs hockey in the Leafs board.

Reilly will almost certainly receive a larger penalty than other players received with similar disciplinary records. The dops in this league is a complete joke.

The potentially net positive element of this whole ordeal is there seems there may be a bit of a 'rally around the flag's moment for the team. This team could definitely benefit from an "us against the world" outlook right now

Didn't Rielly get Kucherov crosscheck on the face in last year's playoffs that gave him a bloody face after Rielly seemingly crosschecked Point on the board (eventually led to Stamkos trying to fight Matthews and got him off the ice)? I don't recall Kucherov getting any suspension for his reaction.

Usually this type of bias judgement from player safety to us only happens to us in the playoffs, but since this year we are at risk of not making the playoffs, it is happening to us at a crucial point in the regular season.

We need Benoit (balls) to go out and slap an open net one game and then turn around and kick the shit outta whoever it is that would wanna hit him. If I was Keefe I'd draw that up as a game plan for future games.
