Send him to Vegas for Shipyachov. Think he'd waive for that? They either utilize him to keep competing or have a TDL chip. Maybe Ship starts finding his N. American style game over some time and could replace DD who absolutely bores me.

Nick the issue with the BMWs is rarely the engine. The German engine will do things and stuff for 300k miles. The problem is changing the radio station fries the ECU, so it never works when you need it.

Maybe we need a second Rick Nash for parts...

By the way, do you still drive your Model T?

I would like to get a vintage car but there are too many model T's for my liking. I'm a gigantic gear head so I can find beauty in many kinds of cars as long as they are only 2 doors. I prefer 2 seats as well.

I know of a Mercedes that have gone over a million miles. BMW is like most car brands. Some years/models are great and some are not. My dad had a Lexus that I was constantly fixing despite their reputation.

I wonder if Rick Nash has any relation to the Nash auto's. I have seen some rebuilt. They are not my preference but there is a market out there for them. Anyone think Rick Nash breaks his slump soon with a big night?

I think he'll put together just enough streaks to get close to a full season 15-20 goal pace by the deadline.

I doubt he'll do it consistently, but I'm sure there will be a couple of two goal games here and there.

If he does that two times or so, and scores 7 goals between now and January, there we are.

I think Nash has played very well, little to show for it. People look at the amount he makes and well yeah he is paid to put up offense. If Nash was making around the 4 million range don't think people would be all over him. I love his two way play, and think the goals will come if he can keep this up. Not sure how his possession numbers have been , but think it's just been bad luck with Nash. I mean sooner or later someone is going to have to remove the black cat from his locker, right?

Nash is what he is.

My biggest beef is that he's one of those guys that expectations just keep being adjusted downward for. No matter how much further his production and results fall, there's always a follow-up for him.

Some guys we place unfair expectations on. Other guys we seem to coddle. A lot of times, I feel as if Nash falls into the latter around here.

I have seen more excuses for Nash than actual goals. Yes, his two way play is appreciated. But he is here to be the team's top goal scorer.

And if this is nothing but bad luck, it has been going on for quite some time.

Yeah given his cap hit, and he is supposed to be scoring goals, no doubt. But I don't see a guy who is laboring out there, or not into the game, or lack of effort. I just see someone who just can't get out of a funk. Maybe he needs to change his game approach if it has not been working for such a long time. I think points are overrated in this league, and it's about the overall play that really should be looked at, but given his contract, he is expected , like you said to be potting goals. Now If Nash was making half his salary , there would not be this much pressure on him to score. His two way play he has been doing, making that kind of money would be more than sufficient to play up to that contract. Then when you throw the word Intangibles into the discussion, HF board members start a riot, lol.

I`m with you @Nick of Time - hopefully Nashy continue tomorrow against Vegas. And Zucc & Kreider need to produce 5 v 5 - hopefully Dave and the whole line can figure out chemistry, but really low expectation so no pressure. :)

It`s Nash contract year and if Rangers don`t sign him - he knows that someone else will certainly sign him as UFA, and that worry me that so many players in NHL from NA seems to be affected by that. Brendan Smith is another player - he is merely a shadow of himself after playoffs in April and he just signed a new contract.

I understand that, but so what? I was afraid that Smith would regress after signing a big deal. I never really wanted Shattenkirk, but at least the years are palatable. Nash? He is what he is. Not sure what he will get on the open market. Plus, add to that his disappearance form the playoff scoring sheet and I think that he will be lucky to get half the yearly value of the deal.

I don't know why we brought this guy here to begin with. He admits he doesn't like the spotlight. Then WTF are you doing in New York?!! I can't stand what this team has become...AGAIN!

Nash will be lucky to get another decent contract. He's not old-old, but the league is not what it was even two or three years ago. Shelf life for players is shortening and will continue to. His agent must know this. Figure him to finish out his career and then retire over the next few years through short-term, low-dollar deals like one or two years.

I think the hope was that with Gaborik and Nash popping in 60-80 goals between them, the Rangers would finally have the high powered offensive weapons to reach the promised land.

And this to me, comes back to the "coach". If I'm the coach of guys like this, I am going to push until they either perform or GTFO. There has to be expectations! Lord knows I have them.

As much as I would like to or think they should trade Nash, to me it is not there MO. To me they will be somewhere in the 6-10 range come the deadline and will pull off trades like the Staal, Yandle, or St. Louis ones thinking they need a shot in the arm to either secure a PO slot or add vet depth for the playoffs. Which is wrong as they need to delete Nash for futures.

So they plunder a system which is slightly better than completely barren like it was a year ago? I cannot believe that when Gorton looks in the mirror he sees anything besides a team that MAY be first round fodder, if they make it at all. I would like to think he is not quite that stupid.
