tbh i thought it was a stoppable shot..but again he played a terrific game. allaround, not just offensively (scoring that goal)

Don't let your agenda get in the way of that goal. It was a one time snipe from bended knee. And he played a tremendous all around game to go with that goal, so I don't know what more we could have asked of him tonight.

Snipe? He shot it right at the middle of the net when he had the whole right side wide open. He managed to even hit the goalie with it. He's lucky it wasn't stopped.

So, Rangers win, Nash has nothing to do with it.
Rangers lose, its Nash's fault.
Got it.

it makes perfect sense...

in the event the Rangers win and Nash is not on the scoresheet, then he really does not have much to do with it. Sure, his defensively play is good, but it's not supposed to be his "game"...

If they lose, he becomes a huge liability because he cannot get on the scoresheet... not because of his defensively play (which has been good of late), but because he is not contributing to the scoresheet given his cap hit and "role" on this team...

I know it's an ass backwards statement, but it's correct. If he's not scoring, he's essentially dragging some of the team down

The idea behind that kind of shot is to put enough force behind it to have it in the net before the goalie gets over. Placement is second to velocity, as long as the puck is on net.

Only Nash can score a goal and it not be good enough. I don't care if he scores by it going off of his helmet. Was the Pacioretty goal not a good goal?

I was down on Nash early in the playoffs, then started to cut him some slack as it became more apparent that he was trying and really starting to contribute even though it wasn't showing up on the scoresheet.

I'd love it if he catches fire thursday night and pots 2 and The Garden roars in appreciation. The positive energy will be huge.

Nash has shown the ability to be a juggernaut for games at a time in the past. If he can get going over the last 6-10 games of these playoffs..

Hey guys...Rick Nash is on our team! Who knew?!?

Will this guy EVER score against a number 1 goalie in the playoffs? I kid, I kid...

I think Carey Price makes that save 100 out of 100 times, but good on Nash not missing the net (which we see so often from hockey players when trying to one-time it on the fly) and forcing the kid to make a save he was unable to make. GWG too.

Another softie, but it looks good in the box score. I don't think he's on a scoring kick yet, but hopefully this helps his confidence so he can really turn it up a notch.

These softies have seemed more regression to the mean, than him stepping up as a goal scorer. Still, definitely nice to see. But I still want to see more from him - as a goalscorer.

Lol, softie? Ok dude. :shakehead

One timer to the top shelf. Nothing soft about it.

I don't care if they're going off his armpit, a goal is a goal. It means he's involved, he's getting himself on the scoresheet while playing good hockey away from the puck. If they all do that we won't lose a game the way Hank is zoned in.

It was more about Nash's quick release than anything.

Hes playing much better, much to your chagrin, apparently.

Wasn't top shelf. I'm not killing the guy, but as nice a setup as Kreider gave him many NHL goalies make that save. Their scrub goalie almost made the save.

Maybe I just think Nash is a better player than some of you. I'm not going to get excited about soft goals from him. I think he's capable of a lot more, and I'd still like to see it.

A one timer isn't all that easy to pick a corner with. Guys have a hard enough time doing this with wrist shots .

MSL sniped the corner on a one timer.

Also, that's not even what I was saying was lacking in that shot. He hit the dead center of the net. I would have liked to see it on the right half of the net. The goalie was very close to taking it in the chest.

Standing still. On the PP.

But hey, that's pretty similar to skating at full speed and accepting a hard cross-ice pass.

You got in a half second before my edit where I clarified I was never even suggesting it should have been a corner snipe. Just hit the right side of the net instead of dead center.

And again, I'm happy he's scoring, but I think he's still a better offensive player than we're seeing. That's not bashing him, it's complementing him.

Well you sir, made me look like an idiot...

Touche

That's not what I'm trying to do...

I think some of you are assigning a tone to these recent posts that wasn't intended and doesn't naturally flow from the text of them.

I'm not angry with him anymore, I'm excited he's scoring. I just think he still has another level he can reach. And that's even more exciting. And I'm not the only one suggesting that goal was a bit soft.

No, mine was more tongue in cheek like I shouldn't have responded so quickly. No worries man.

I don't think price gives up that goal yesterday. I don't want to exaggerate how much "he's baaaack" but he played noticeably better in a few games, got slightly reduced ice time and I think he has legitamately collected his thoughts. He is playing at a level that is at least acceptable even though I agree it could still be better

A goal is a goal when he wasn't scoring. When he scores, goals are all different, like snowflakes.

Try to keep up.

I don't think this was a great goal, but the goalposts, they are a movin'.

Nash doesn't score- Get the **** out Nash worst player of all time

Nash scores- ****** goal got lucky. Try scoring a real goal next time, because ****** game winning goals aren't real goals.

He played a very solid game. Really seemed to be moving his feet and was involved in the game as much as I've watched it so far. Still have most of the third period to go.

He came back on a really strong back check. Very good to see that.

....and he scored a goal. The game winner of which he scored many during the regular season. Which is why we got him. To score big goals in important playoff games.
