So he scored a 3rd period goal in a 6-1 game against a back-up goalie... Sorry that I'm not all giddy about it..
After the 5-on-3 goal, the HNIC commentary was to the effect of, "So now, Montreal has woken up the Rangers' power play. The cherry on top would be for Nash to get a goal and bring him back to life."
Many scorers become a complete liability when they go into this type of slump. Nash, to his credit, has been working hard on the other end of the puck, weathering the storm. The effort is there, it has been there.
Did you see his smile after he scored? Eight years old all over again.
I think we'll see a more effective Nash in the games to come.
Rick Nash is bad at hockey.
Can't remember where I read it, but did anyone else see Nash have a post game comment about taking Brass's time on the PP and say "well obviously, I'm not as skilled as Brass..."
He knows he's the guy that did this, right? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kBQArUjP89w
Obviously saving it for the real important games.Nash is averaging 2 points per game over his career in the conference finals and finals!![]()
Can we go one day without silly posts like this?![]()
I find it interesting you say that....
Anyway, Rick Nash's goal wasn't that impressive. It was already mentioned: we had a huge lead and it was on a backup. He just seems scared and is lacking confidence. He needs to get a 'screw it, I'm going to take over mindset'.
I thought he actually had a real solid game, even before he scored
that line was dangerous as hell tonight.
It's not the circumstances so much as the fact that athletes' performance is often based on confidence, and he clearly lacked it due to his goal scoring woes.So he scored a 3rd period goal in a 6-1 game against a back-up goalie... Sorry that I'm not all giddy about it..
0 goals = terrible game.
1 meaningless goal = great game.
at least thats how it seems around here.
i thought he was one of our best players all night long. that line was dangerous as hell tonight.

This goal was meaningless in terms of the game itself and evaluating his overall performance, but substantial in that it can hopefully help rebuild his confidence and allow him to play without the pressure he was no doubt putting on himself to score.
