ARod picked it up in the 2009 ALCS, before that most of his hits were in blowouts.

Here's hoping Rick can build momentum from that goal.

Nash has not killed the Rangers during the playoffs. If he ever gets on a roll they will be tough to beat!

I hope the team doesn't spook him. Nash may have tied his career high in goals for a playoff season, but it takes quite a professional to break a record. If the Rangers keep playing this way, Nash will easily have two or even three goals this post season, but we will have to go deep for that to happen. As always, it's a team effort.

Here's the thing, Rick is a streaky player. If he can get on one of his 10-12 game hot streaks after finally popping one....

So he scored a 3rd period goal in a 6-1 game against a back-up goalie... Sorry that I'm not all giddy about it..

a lot of this has to be mental at this point. no way someone as talented as him could be held goalless for as long as he had and not be second guessing everything he does. the only reason this goal means anything is because he just killed the monkey on his back and might go on a dominant stretch now.

After the 5-on-3 goal, the HNIC commentary was to the effect of, "So now, Montreal has woken up the Rangers' power play. The cherry on top would be for Nash to get a goal and bring him back to life."

Many scorers become a complete liability when they go into this type of slump. Nash, to his credit, has been working hard on the other end of the puck, weathering the storm. The effort is there, it has been there.

Did you see his smile after he scored? Eight years old all over again.
I think we'll see a more effective Nash in the games to come.

I think I could live without seeing 8 year old Nash playing

Can't remember where I read it, but did anyone else see Nash have a post game comment about taking Brass's time on the PP and say "well obviously, I'm not as skilled as Brass..."

He knows he's the guy that did this, right? http://m.youtube.com/watch?v=kBQArUjP89w

Maybe his concussion made him forget he knew how to do this, and if he sees this he'll say "Well, I'll be damned...."
Problem over. Avalanches and rivers of goals ensue...
Maybe he likes the taste of that goal today and wants some more. Hope so.

I find it interesting you say that....

Anyway, Rick Nash's goal wasn't that impressive. It was already mentioned: we had a huge lead and it was on a backup. He just seems scared and is lacking confidence. He needs to get a 'screw it, I'm going to take over mindset'.

Interesting why? We won a game and Nash scored a goal, albeit not the most important goal in NHL history. Do you see me trashing Lundqvist today?

that line was dangerous as hell tonight.

That's Kreider's doing all day long.

Before this game, majority on the main boards thought the Canadiens would give us fits because they possess so much speed.

After this game, not only are the majority on the main boards but the Canadiens board as well, are questioning if not only are the Rangers as fast but are they actually quicker, with many alluding to the spark plug that is Kreider.

It's not the circumstances so much as the fact that athletes' performance is often based on confidence, and he clearly lacked it due to his goal scoring woes.

This goal was meaningless in terms of the game itself and evaluating his overall performance, but substantial in that it can hopefully help rebuild his confidence and allow him to play without the pressure he was no doubt putting on himself to score.

0 goals = terrible game.

1 meaningless goal = great game.

at least thats how it seems around here.

i thought he was one of our best players all night long. that line was dangerous as hell tonight.

It only seems that way because you bent over backwards making excuses for him during the Pens series where he, goals or not, played pretty poorly.

Yeah, but that line hasn't achieved what needs to be achieved to score goals on a regular basis all year.

Confidence and what not is ONE factor for them not scoring, but that line have had problems and WILL have problems scoring goals, without any doubt. I think we should be very happy if that line can score around 0.66-0.75 PPG on avg going forward (ie per player).

But I mean, again they faced Subban and co., the best of the other team, and won the momentum battle. Seldomly getting into real trouble. I've pointed that out so many times the last weeks. THAT IN ITSELF IS TREMENDOUSLY VALUBLE. AV pointed out that Nash is our best advanced stats player this post season, and it don't surprise me...

Haters gonna find someone to hate no matter what, and when the glaring stats stick out they are going to keep puking on this board, we all know who they are. But I think it's ridiculous and childish to talk about Nash being scratched and what not.

AV should make him watch this before every game.

It's got to be mental. Look how ****** Hank's season started vs. how he's playing now. If they're playing well without him scoring, he can only be icing on the cake. Hopefully this PP goal makes him realize how hungry he is!

Come on Rick Nash I'm believing in you. Bring us to the promised lands!
