Credit to the big man. If nothing else he certainly came out wanting it tonight. Still left a bit to be desired but upped his game, and busted his rear.

He actually played a good game tonight. Credit where its due, but the problem remains that those games are way to few and far between. If he plays with that kind of intensity every game then it wouldnt be an issue. We shall see.

Thought he was good this series, great tonight (though not quite as good as he was when he visited Columbus), and non-existent yesterday. That said, we won't beat Pitt if he doesn't start doing what he was brought here to do and pot some.

This is exactly why I'd rather buy out Nash than Richards. How is Nash's contract any better than Richard's? I'd rather keep a guy who shows up, even if it's just for the POs. Richards has elevated his game for POs this year and it's visible. Nash, on the other hand, can barely get up to play against any team not named Columbus which is equally visible, and I wish the Rangers would have no part of a player like that.

The huge difference between Richards and Nash is that Nash is 29 years old (30 in June) and his contract expires when he's 33/34. Richards is 33 years old (34 on Friday) and his contract expires when he's 39/40. HUGE difference there even though Nash makes an extra $1.13M

With that contract, you could easily trade Nash within the next year or two.

Better tonight, but he still needs to start putting up some goals.

He can make this round a distant memory if he steps up against the pens. We need him

His first, second, and third jobs on this team are to score goals. He's got to start already. Enough is enough.

His role and his line's role is to make sure they score more goals than the guys they go up against. I'd rather him score no goals and his line outscore the opposing line 1-0 than him score 2 and the opposing line score 3.

Nash's defense has been elite in this series, plain and simple. There's a reason why AV's got him out there in key defensive situation towards the end of the game. His role is obviously more than scoring goals. A player like Ovechkin doesn't get those shifts late in games.

*I'm not saying he's better than OV, either. But it's pretty obvious that Nash pitches in a lot when it comes to defense. I don't think a single forward on our team made as many defensive plays as him.

Don't get me wrong, I love the D he's playing. But that's not going to be enough to win a cup, hell it's probably not going to be enough to get past the Pens.

He's not being paid 7.8 million a year to play D, he's playing it to score goals. Again, in no way am I suggesting to not play D or become what OV was this year. But there's no reason he can't do both, he's getting the chances as everyone has acknowledged. It's about time he starts burying them like 7.8 million dollar players are expected to.

Nash led the team in goals by a decent margin. I do not like when he barely moves but that was not the case tonight so why bash him. Nobody can score at will including Crosby.

Who cares about the regular season? This is the playoffs. This is where you make your money.

I agree that he needs to score goals but what else should he be doing to score more? Mason made two really great saves on him tonight. They weren't bad shots. On top of that he's making really good plays with the puck. He's been the best forward in the series when it's come to not making bad turnovers. He's playing textbook hockey, for whatever reason they just aren't going in for him.

They didn't trade everything they did for him and his contract to get a lot of chances and be "visible" without actually scoring.

Hell, maybe they did, in which case, thanks Sather!

We just won a game 7 against a hated rival and you seem upset. Nash did not play great but he played hard. I'm not going to bash him after he plays hard.

I thought Nash was our best forward. MSL was the weak link on his line tonight.

Doesnt matter, they won. That's why you need depth scoring.

The best line in hockey over the last few seasons has been a Lucic-Bergeron-Marchand combo. None of those guys score a ton but they always outplay their opponents. If Nash wants to go out there and play shutdown hockey I have no problem with it. Eventually the goals are going to come.

That's okay every once in a while. It's not okay for 18 out of 19 playoff games. It's not okay for 7 straight playoff games this year.

They have to, for whatever reason, start going in. It's either that or we lose. Simple as that, and that's why I'm so frustrated with him right now. We can't have him pulling this inability to score crap again this year.

If he plays hard consistently he will score and probably in bunches. His problems usually are about effort. When he is determined the goals usually follow. He has been a bit snake bitten but I think he gave an honest effort tonight.

It's a crazy stat, I won't deny it. At the end of the day he's doing so much more for the team than some of the players that have goals in this series.

I wouldn't be surpised if this team lost to Pitt and he scored three goals. The loss against Boston last year wasn't due to his inablity to score. There are some teams in the league that are just better than the Rangers. All I can expect from Nash and any other player on the team is to just outplay the opposition.

I think he's playing hurt. His skating is very sluggish.

1) buying out Richards or Nash will make this team worse. If they really want to get rid of either of them, we easily can. But, either way- we get worse.

2) the guy is going through a rough patch. Should Pitt buy out Crosby or Malkin through the first 6 games? Give him time to shine. He's a stud. Regardless, who do we replace him with?

Just like when we traded for Nash, Signed Gomez and Drury, it seemed like good idea at the time but clearly a bad move.

I only disagree with the bold. Until he starts scoring in the playoffs, I'm inclined to think he's incapable of it just as his numbers indicate to this point.

I really don't think it's a matter of effort. He's really not that fast, just a big guy with big strides. I think people expect too much from him.

I think he appeased a lot of fans by finishing some checks tonight but it really didn't make him a better player, just made him slower on the backcheck. Perfect example was the Columbus game that everyone cites. They act like Nash fighting or pushing a player after the whistle made a big difference in the game.

Are we still complaining about Nash? The top line didn't score, but played great. Mason robbed them again and again the last two games. They will score, no doubt about that. Nash was a beast tonight.

I still have faith the goals will come. I know some don't care for the advanced stats, but he had the 3rd highest Corsi for % in the NHL 5 on 5 in the first round. He is getting a lot of shots while on the ice, and playing well defensively.

He has to put it in the back of the net, I expect a big 2nd round from him.
