I'm in the same boat, but it looks like the cadence of further rate drops is going to time itself right just in time for renewal (hopefully). Still won't be the sub 2% I locked in 2020 though sadly.
Mine renews next year. If the rate is still high but looks like it will drop in the next few years then I might renew for 1 or 2 years.

The Panthers are getting so overrated on the main board, just like Dallas was. I'm not saying we're favourites, I think 55/45 in Florida's favour is fair. But talking about that lineup like the Oilers aren't even in the same league is insane. It's like everyone just ignores McDavid and Draisaitl down the middle.

You also can't tell me the Oilers don't crush the same teams the Panthers have in the playoffs. Dallas is a better team than any team the Panthers have played so far, and really wasn't that far off from Florida during the regular season. And while I was not a believer in the Canucks, if you look at regular season results, they were at least comparable with New York.

The Oilers have a very legitimate shot here.
Tampa isn't the same team that they once were. They actually lost to the Leafs last post season which is really all you need to say about them.

After reading that, I’m not even sure why they are playing this series. :). Oilers getting zero respect from league coaches and management, just like last series. There’s a reason every single one of those coaches and GM’s are participating in polls and not still playing. Not good or bright enough. ;)

Yikes. That won’t end well for us, especially if he’s given two mediocre wingers. See last year’s Vegas series against the Eichel line.

I think we will see Kane and Hollywood as his linemates, and from what I’m reading from Fla’s end, they are thinking of matching Bennett’s line against Drai. But who knows, all speculation until puck drop.

I posted something similar on the mainboards, but I think it's fair to say that Florida is the best team in the East, based on the regular season. But I also think that if you looked at the Oilers over the last 70 regular season games, it would be fair to say they are the top team in the West. Both teams beat the teams in front of them, can't control that.

Obviously I could be wrong and we lose in 4, but this isn't like an 8th seed team that goalied their way to the finals. The Oilers will clearly be the best team the Panthers have faced so far in the playoffs.
Dangle's podcast looked at this.

if you remove the first ten games of the season for everyone, the top two teams in the league over the last 72 games of the season were the Oilers and the panthers, with the Oilers topping the panthers due to tiebreaker. both teams had 99 points.

This final unequivocally has the top 2 teams in the league in it.

Lol some of u have no faith in mcdrai. Are u oilers fans?

Nice to see McLeod bumped down. His soft play isn't gonna go over well against the Panthers.
McLeod was horrible in game 6 and most of the stars series. He did not handle pressure well and would jyst give up the puck instead of taking a hit

If McLeod is a place holder for Kane then that 4th line is going to have a lot of nasty with Kane-Carrick-Perry

Ugh. At least drop Nuge down to play with Draisaitl. Based on the Dallas series, he can clearly use the help.
Nope. Draisaitl can drive a big Line 2 with Holloway and Kane to go against the cheap, dirty Panthers Line 2. No way they disrupt Line 1 that all season long has tilted the ice and outscored massively. They can always break glass in case of emergency if needed with the Stack Line, McDavid and a McWinger finishing Draisaitl. But this is a real balanced line-up that utilizes the team depth effectively.

Kadri did a pretty good job when he was a Leaf :)

I'm just saying dont underestimate Barkov, he is really really really really good.
That was so long ago in a few regular season games where Kadri was allowed to literally hang off of McDavid by the refs. Kadri and Kesler have both done that in the past to Connor but that doesn't mean anything if it wasnt in a 7 game series.

Not to mention 97 had a great series against the Avs we just bled goals then , we’re not good defensively in that run.

Let’s not underestimate Connor he is really, really good….
