OT: Restaurant thread

Fantastic list, agree with all of them! Winnipeg really is spoiled for great restaurants, seemingly always something new to try.
Cibo is one of the best settings in this city. Just a fantastic reclamation project of a great part of the architectural history in town. I used to love Peg as well, for the food, beer and just overall setting. Haven’t tried it as Nonsuch yet, have you?
I have not but most certainly will very soon, it’s on the list of places I haven’t gone to yet along with others!

Lol, unsurprising. I doubt much has changed at that place for 50 years.
No , the inside of the restaurant is exactly the same . I think we had the same waitress from the last time i was there like 20 years ago too .

Too many faves to list right now but I'll start with these...
  1. Italian: Santa Ana (my favourite restaurant of any kind in the city)
  2. Chinese: Hung's
  3. Steak: The Keg on Garry (yes, this Keg location is better than the others)
  4. Greeks burgers: VJ's... or George's in a pinch
  5. Non-Greeks burgers: Five Guys

Okay, that's enough for now... I'm hungry!

sorry Jeff; forgot to include you in the pre-game ramble that lead to this thread

Great burger places, love Mrs Mike’s and the Whip on Marion .....

I love all the places that make our Dining scene unique!
Deer and Almond, Segovia, Enoteca, Maque, Smith, Fusion, Bonfire Bistro, Inferno bistro, king and Bannatyne, Clementines, peasant cookery, Cibo, Cafe Dario, oxbow, Cafe Carlo, Passero, chaise, sous sol, pizzeria gusto, little goat, Marion street eatery.
There are many more but all those places are just a great start, should give you a few years worth of restaurants! I can rarely get to a place a second time because there are so many gems. Our dining scene is stellar!
Pretty sure you are following my wife and I around! I love all kinds of restaurants, burger joints to tapas and everything in between.

Our overall favorite is Inferno Bistro on Des Meurons though.

@nobody important, those ‘safe’ restaurants get quite a bit of love from us as well. You always know what you’re getting.

Harth is located in the depths of southern St Vital and it’s really good. Rustic Italian. Wood fired Neapolitan style pizzas, handmade pasta.
Was there at the end of August last summer , very good . I went to the bathroom and there's a guy washing his hands and in my head i said , that's a tall bastard  got beside him and it was Wheeler . Hey Blake how's it going , he says hi and i say hope we win it all this season , he says ya me too .

Also I love the pizza at Trans Canada Brewery. Probably my favorite crust. Pizza is probably my favorite food group.
That's one place I still need to check out. Apparently the dude that started it won some kind of "worlds best pizzaiolo" in Italy a few years back. Pretty impressive. Im with you bro, I could legit eat pizza everyday for the rest of my life with the odd fatboy sprinkled in lol.

Some solid Foodies in this group. Lots of great recommendations.

Please check out “The Tallest Poppy’” in the Front of the Sherbrook Inn.

Thread makes me think of Darth and Mrs Monty who were Triple D’s travelling food fans.

RIP Mrs Monty.

Lots of great pizza in Winnipeg.

Vera’s
Santa Anna
Red Ember
Santa Lucia
Tony’s
The aforementioned Garwood Grill
Pizzeria Gusto
Hildegards bakery on Portage makes amazing pizza.
Sorrentos

Just noticed today the Pembina Village Inn has changed names. They used to have great pizza, not sure if that remains.

He started his own place on Corydon in the old Birks fine furs building (dated myself with that reference).
Tommy’s Pizza. Great vibe.

Great thing about being near a major city like Atlanta, there’s tons of great restaurant choices. Unfortunately I can’t afford any of them. Lol

20 Atlanta Restaurants That Won’t Break the Bank

Look at that #1, man. Shit, I would be happy if we just had an authentic Cajun/Creole restaurant. If it offered me an all you can eat buffet option, just call me Snuffles.

Any of ya'll into Filipino food? There's some great places in Winnipeg to get some..
Jollibee!!

Which places do you recommend? The only other place I’ve been is Juvian’s. TBH, considering how big our Filipino community is, I’ve always thought the Filipino restaurant scene was rather unknown. I’ve always been curious about their cuisine but it seems to get buried in the vast selection of Vietnamese and Thai restaurants. Lately the Korean scene has made considerably more noise.
I obviously just don’t know where to go.
