Man im legit dissapointed of this franchise. It's like not even rage anymore.
It's like a void or a black hole that there is no hope to ever comeback.

Our prospects are so boring that nobody is hyped. Our prospects are so overrated they struggle to make playoffs in the AHL
Then move on? Or do you like disappointing yourself? Do you like continuously being upset? Sooner or later the whinning n bitc....ing is on you not them.
Colorado n Vegas are looking for fans

I wasn't happy yesterday , and still am shaking my head.

For those who say we need to see in a few years, sounds sensible, but not always needed.

Did we need to wait 3 years on Tinordi or Poehling, guys whose ceiling was no.4D and a 3C? I don't think so. For Slaf, yes. We have had so many disappointing drafts. Last year was pretty good, though wonder about Cooley, but good pass on Wright, who I wanted.

Hughes has done well overall so I know he's earned patience.

So Reinbacher ? Hughes says the guys ceiling is as a no. 2 D. You know, a guy who can only be on the top pair because he compliments the skilled D. So at best , a Hampus Lindholm. Lindholm historically has been a solid defensive D man.

Well okay I guess.

Sometimes we can understand why a team takes or doesn't take a guy. At this point if Michkov is a huge talent, I'll blame HUGO for passing on him.

I'm hoping that Hugjes isn't like MB and think he's smarter than everyone else because of his secret weapon. For MB it appears to have been making sure the guys are gym rats with great combines. For Hughes it sounds like he likes to come up with " outside the box", his words, interview questions. Uh huh.

As to the rest of the picks, well hopefully that's a good add to the goalie pool. Wifi 2 is fun.

Newhook. A 31st and 37th OA give you probably about a 12.5% chance each ( I actually researched this years ago ) of getting a top 6F , top 4D or starting goalie. So 2 chances is about 25%. The question for me is do I think Newhook has a better than 25% chance of being a top 6F ? For me the answer is yes, so I'm fine with the trade. And a C at that.

Was not a fun day. Hopefully in time Reinbacher justifies his selection, but for today, I don't know.

Here
That's not without development for sure. But that will never be a full line-up either.
But we have everything we need to build most of it, all we need is that one or two players that will either breakout...or we'll have to start wealing and dealing cause we have a whole lot of them.
I think we are at the point of waiting it out a year, shedding the corpses and then offering ludicrous contracts to key UFA's when time comes. With the draft next season, I guess we will be drafting for need again, and pounce on whatever available on July 1st. We aren't getting the superstars so.... cram up the 3 first lines.

Maybe use the 2025 picks as fodder.

Anyone who believes the so called pro scouts that we've had in recent past are knowledgeable, just take a look at the picks (first round) between the 2000 and 2020 drafts. 5 good and 15 bad. I'm not looking post 2020 because it's too early to say. Price, Mcdonagh, Segachev, Caufield and Guhle. We traded Mcdonagh and Sergachev and got absolutely fleeced.

The rest are a collection of misfits like Tinordi, Leblanc, McCarron, Fischer etc. But yeah, what do fans know, these are after all the pros who do this for a living smh. I'm still waiting to eat crow for the picks I didn't care for like the ones mentioned and many others such as Chipchura, Juulsen etc. I'm waiting to eat crow one day but those who think the scouts know better, have already obviously quenched their thirst by drinking Kool-aid by the gallons.

Lil pup
I'm worried about your mental health
All this constant negativity can't be good. Remove yourself if it causes such distress.
OR your just complaining for something to do lol. Both say more about you than the team lol.
But it's a public forum right? So I can say that.
Take care.

No one cares
Molson is all about public relations and might not have wanted the noise that would have accompanied the Russian player. I am speculating here but there would be a lot of questions based on the Russia/Ukraine conflict and that might have been a deciding factor.

The other baffling moments are Bobrov explanations of the buckets to choose from. Sorry, but my interpretations again, is that their buckets are the needs buckets. He said that there were buckets that were emptying quite fast. He said that when trying to explain both Russians, the D and the goalie.

So in essence for the sake of NEEDS, they decided to pick guys that they haven't seen that much, reason why they didn't pick Michkov, but decided to do so with those guys 'cuase it was later on...and they HAD to fill the NEEDS...

I'll say it...but that groups scares me more than the Timmins group....At one point does Rockstrom loses his superstar aura?

Same as almost every team drafting on the same spot lol

I think I’d rather Timmins than this Lapointe Bobrov combo. So awful.

Please explain the lil pup reference.

Are you insulted someone on a public forum responded to your constant, excessive bashing, negative posts? And showed concern for your well being and offered a solution.

I'll add PM if ya want a convo "Big Dog" lol as I don't wanna fill up the thread.

Lapointe looks like a dumb dude. All muscles and no brain. Cant believe he didnt got fired.

At least Bobrov knows how to explain something and make a full sentence without suffering for epilepsy while doing it.

At this point I don't know what to think, still trying to figure out what the hell happened last night. All I can say is Reinbacher is a solid RD with upside who fills a need. (They are indeed hard to find) So in that regard it's not a total loss, it may infact turn out to be a great choice.. I'm just having a hard time accepting it was the right one last night. At this point we can only hope for the best, disappointed or not.

Welcome to Montreal David, and good luck!!

I'm just hoping our fans give you a fair shake, because you've been put in a very difficult situation that has nothing to do with you. The inevitable comparisons to Michkov should be reserved for the management team. Please let's not make him the scapegoat.

Just breathe everybody. He could be a big piece of this team going forward.

Oh, none of this should be directed at the player. It's the organization that's shit.

Hi guys, 2 quick questions:
First, why did you draft 12 goalies?
Secondly, wtf?

ThE CuLtUrE. Dumb and f***ing Dumber.

Bobrov is the biggest moron in the world. He's a used car salesman that talks in shallow analogies and platitudes that mean nothing. He seems to have an ego and want to be the smartest guy in the room, veering off into wacky decision-making every time.

I'd be very worried about their direction under this doofus going forward if I were someone who still cared.

I've come around to being okay with Reinbacher I guess. I wanted Michkov but it is what it is. Reinbacher should be, at least, a top 4 defenseman and his upside can be a top pair guy which, if he hits it, will be as valuable as Michkov so we'll have to wait and see.

Fowler I really like and he's going to a very good program for goalies. As others have mentioned, the BU Vs. Boston College game are gonna be must see tv next year lol.

I really wish they'd taken more home run swings late in the draft but whatever most of it after the first few picks is always a coin flip. The Xhekaj pick was probably the only one that didn't sit right with me, I was kind of hoping we'd invite him to rookie camp or sign him to an AHL deal after his OHL career.

Not going to pretend like I know anything about the Russian defenseman or the goalie. I always like Russian players so hope it works out for them and the defenseman is very intriguing. For sure a guy teams would be looking to sign next year IMO.

No idea about Harris but he's going NCAA so you can let him cook for a while even if he's already older.

Not that we're ever going to have good Swedes but Erikson is an interesting one considering he missed so much of his draft year. Goes without saying but draft+1 is probably more crucial than it is for any of the other picks.

I do like Mittelstadt and he's sort of similiar to Harris can let him develop for a while.

I voted D in the poll because Reinbacher's name starts with D but honestly it's not fully reflective of how I feel. I wish they'd have taken some more home run swings but that clearly wasn't their intent this year. If Fowler and Reinbacher can hit the potential I think they have it's a good draft, if they don't it isn't. I feel like a lot of drafts you can say that about your first two picks, honestly.

yeah, the players have nothing to do, with the decisions management makes, i have nothing against Reinbacher or the talent he has.

You are sadly right . We can't ever find a gem player in top picks of any rounds , no surprise players getting a major role.

Man if you look at our lineup , which is like 70% of kids and yet that roster is complete trash to watch except for Suzuki and Caufield together.

Can you imagine if Suzuki and Caufield both get injured? We fight for the last spot.
There is a contradiction in your post

Before the draft I said I'll trust Hughes will have done his due diligence and will make the proper choice for this team, even if it goes against my better judgement. So I just have to trust that's what he did.

Looking forward to see what Newhook can do as well.
