Imagine OG and Kawhi on defense. This team will be sweet.

Who is the starting SG now? Delon?

Green or Vanvleet, imo.

but lots and lots of options.

Super O

Jonas
Kawhi
Miles
VanV
Lowry

Super D

Siakam
Anunoby
Kawhi
Green
Delon

Super Big

Jonas
Siakam
Kawhi
OG
Delon

Super Small

Siakam
OG
Kawhi
Vanvleet
Lowry

Super 3s

Kawhi
Green
Miles
Vanvleet
Lowry

I'd lean towards this lineup:

STARTer - BENCH

C Jonas - Ibaka
PF OG - Siakam
SF Kawhi - Miles
SG FVV - Green
PG Lowry - Delon

I knew the media would be a complete shit storm today. If you block out all of the noise/drama; this is a terrific move.

As constructed; we have one of the best defensive teams in NBA history; and defence wins championships. Our window was potentially over (if you're not getting better you are getting worse) because our core has aged one year while Boston, Philly are about to take a massive leap forward. We basically extended the window by 1 year while unloading a terrible contract; while giving us an opportunity to create a bidding war between the Lakers/Clippers.

This is truly a genius level deal. It could seriously be the difference between being relevant for many more years vs having to go into a full swing rebuild.

Is the risk worth it? Absolutely.
The Raptors with Kawhi and no Lebron in the East can win the Conference.
Raptors have the starting 5 plus a stacked bench.

If you want to risk it all, go for it.
I don't blame Masai about going all in, this is probably the best chance the Raptors have on going to the NBA Finals.

there is no risk here, and no "all in".

As I mentioned previously. I like Green to start more than VanVleet because a VanVleet/Lowry backcourt can get exposed, but VanVleet and Wright actually cover for each other reasonably well. I also like hte idea of OG off the bench because it basically means we can have a Kawhi type on the floor at all times (even though the idea of a two-headed monster of Kawhi and Kawhi Jr is really enticing)

Leonard is fine and will report. Masai isn't stupid, he has spoken to Leonard people and even Leonard himself prior to finalizing deal.

Why everyone is flipping their wigs I don't know.

Leonard is a Raptor, Green is a Raptor!!! The team is much better offensively and defensively. We gave up nothing to get him other then a loyal player that we drafted and tried his best for the city and organization. Thank you DD, we appreciate your efforts. But its a business, no hard feelings!
You would think so, but from various nba “sources” this hasn’t happened.
Normally though you’d hear from Masai by now tho so I am a little concerned until either he or Kawhi actually speaks

I hate it personally just because he's my kids favourite player who is a bigger Raps fan than I. I told him this morning that DD isn't very good I hope he gets traded. His response? "I don't! He's my favourite player!! Wait... Dad?!? He got traded didn't he!?" And started to cry. While I denied it the start of the season might be challenging.

On the flip side, are we better? Absolutely. But this is a win now trade. Now as in THIS SEASON. Those involved will be free agents. Could we win the East? I think we can and will. But I don't see how we stand a chance against the top Western teams.

He's in Africa

Anubuoy, Wright, Ibaka for Butler, Dieng,

C Jonas - Bebe
PF - Siakam - Dieng
SF Kawhi - Miles
SG Butler - Green
PG Lowry - FVV

I probably wouldn't actually do that though; but would be insane for 1 year

Really just the Warriors tbh, this Raptors team can be the #2 team depending on how well Lowry can perform and if Kawhi is his 2016-17 version.

so many options.

really, though, I want to see upside kids like Fred and OG really get a chance at real minutes, because if their performances from last year translate into bigger roles, imo that's the highest upside lineup.

Green is solid and I have no probs with him starting, but his shooting has dropped a bit and he's safer but not as much upside.

I also like Lowry defending SGs more than PGs tbh - he doesn't really have the quicks go cover good PGs anymore, but is thick and smart enough to do a credible job on most SGs.

my starting lineup has three guys that can penetrate at will, 4 guys that can nail 3s (maybe even 5), and plenty of defensive versatility.

If the real Leonard shows up , it's a no brainer.

Demar Derozan, unfortunately is not a winner....he needs to go, they need to bring in a real star to anchor the team...enough is enough.

we were in WIN NOW mode already, with most of our contracts up after next year.

Kawhi looks like such a baby and a moron already. Toronto is a great city, the Raps have been one of the top seeds in the east for a while now, it's not like he's going to the Hawks or Bobcats or something. Masai is a solid executive, amazing fan base. I mean, do a little bit of research ya moron.
