Yeah. Evander is such a good idea.. He can hang out with his buddies at the Roxy every night after games... Recipe for success right there.

So what did Kane say about his Sabres teamates, couldn't be bothered clicking on the tsn video?

Basically threw his team-mates under the bus....saying the word around the league is that if you score two goals the Sabres are done...this from a guy who has a single assist in the six games he's been back off injury.....who'd want this guy in your dressing-room?

Part of their lauded mentorship program, I presume?

Would Sabres accept Sbisa? Perhaps we can interest you in Gaunce?

Few things:

1) Hutton won't be traded for Kane. If anyone is being offered, it would be Virtanen+

2) I would personally say 'no' to Kane. Benning is trying to build a character team composed of character vets. There are no guarantees that Kane would change his ways here, or even rediscover his previous scoring touch.

Although I've battled back and forth on Evander Kane, my current answer is, 'no.'

So he's a dirt bag, and the Canucks want to give him a job? I'd buy him out with that attitude and all the problems, if only it didn't mean feeding his habits without at least getting a body on the ice

Evander Kane would boost fan interest:

I will say this about Kane. An acquisition of Evander Kane would create curiosity within the city of Vancouver. Whether we like it or not, Kane would spark some interest in a jaded hockey market........for better or for worse.

And who knows - maybe Evander Kane rediscovers his game, cleans up his act, and truly becomes the prodigal son of Vancouver one day.

I'd probably still lean towards 'no' (i.e. I want the Canucks to get someone younger that either plays Center or Defense).

As far as Virtanen goes, he's struggling right now but I think he'll bounce back long term. Even if he doesnt' end up being a Top 6 guy, I'm ok with him becoming a Raffi Torres/Jannik Hansen calibre guy long term.

Buffalo has scored 14 goals in the last 11 games so he is right. And he said that everyone, including himself needs to finish their chances.

Did Kane ever say he'd play for Vancouver? This kind of key to the issue. As repugnant as Kane seems Canucks are not exactly a dream destination either.

The only Kane deal I'd contemplate would be Sedins for Kane and a first round pick. If this is not acceptable, I bid you "Good Day".

Sabres don't have cap for both Sedins, would need to to take Kane, Ennis and Moulson back. I'd throw in the 1st if Nucks add Tryamkin. :)

Rediscovers his game? He is what he is at this point. He's nothing more than a zero IQ middle sixer who makes his linemates worse. He's a forechecker.

The interview was fine. It wasn't out of line at all.

Kane's "joke statement" in full

“We’ve scored 11 goals in the last nine games,” Kane said. “You’re not going to win many games, if any, scoring like that. We’ve got to find a way to…not even create more, just bear down and bury it. Get hungrier. I think that’s the thing. It must be a joke right now: You score two goals against the Buffalo Sabres and you're going to win the game. We’ve got to end that.”

I see nothing objectionable about this, he's frustrated as he well should be.

Buffalo has no real need to trde Kane unless they get an offer they actually like.

They will not trade him for a cap dump.

Buffalo does not have the cap space for both Sedins. They have little space as it is now.

I listened to the interview and it was nothing. It was slight above the standard 110% one shift at a time lines players usually throw out. He didn't throw his team under the bus. He said stuff like WE need to bear down to score more goals, himself included.

If his team was under the bus, he jumped under the wheels with them.

I'm not a Kane fan at all, but this is a story created by someone who needed to hand in something for a deadline. Too bad they didn't understand it wasn't supposed to be fiction.

Look at Kane's GP since entering the NHL. Very rough estimate 432/580 games played. That would scare me enough , let alone the baggage included and salary. Yikes
