Can you post a screenshot of an elbow hitting a head? Im not even asking for principle point of contact which is the back. Wont hold my breathe.
The word "principle" hasnt been in the rule for over a decade now. It now says main point of contact precisely because it doesnt matter what comes first, but where the force is. Not that it matters here, he left his feet despite being WAY taller than the player, extends the arm, is entirely in the numbers, has enough room to avoid hitting in the numbers since he lined it up pretty early (as others have mentioned). He has a massive rap sheet for a guy who has played a couple weeks of NHL hockey total... guy should get a repeat offender suspension for intent to injure and really shouldnt be in the league.

Rempe is a clown, he looks like a big giraffe out there, that was a dirty hit from behind, that's how you can break somebody's neck, one of these day someone is gonna take care of Rempe and teach him a valuable lesson. I hope he gets a hefty suspension. The kid doesn't belong in the NHL. I'm glad Heiskanen is alright.

For a guy who's trying to prove he's not a liability at NHL level, I'm not sure if it's a smart idea to take a major penalty while your team is up 2-1 in the third, and desperate to win even a single game. If Dallas capitalizes on that power play he's probably back in the AHL already.

Doesn't look malicious. Just looks really, really dumb
And I don't know what's worse. Someone who does this on purpose or someone so dumb and out of control that he doesn't know what he's doing.

At least the guy doing this intentionally could at some point choose not to. Rempe just seems like a lost cause who is a danger to allow on the ice.

Raffi Torres didnt get suspended til his 11th season in the league. He hit hard but he didnt hit dirty until he slowed down and started catching guys late. Rempe came into the league dirty. been ejected from a fifth of ALL his games played and suspended already. Guy shouldnt be in the league, throw the book at him.
Torres always laid out a lot of borderline hits.

They just changed the definition of what was dirty over the course of his career.

He didn't change. The league did.

It seems to me that a lot of the outrage against Rempe is because a lot of people are afraid he will lay out their players the next time they play the Rangers. Thus, they want the NHL to disqualify him for reasons or something. Can’t be having players who hit hard and instill fear in the NHL.

Funny reading all these “he sucks” comments as well. Did you miss the game? He drew three penalties in like five minutes. You would’ve even found it from the box score.

no the problem is that he can't seem to hit anyone legally and you doofuses keep trying to play the same "oh he's too big??" card you used to have a "moral" stance against. Remind me which NHL team last put out a public statement against "horrifying acts of violence" and now wants to lick their chops and wear the other shoe?

This guy has done the Tom Wilson career speedrun on absolutely awful hits in not even a half-season's worth of games. Nobody's afraid that he's going to play the game better than them and get them dead to rights, they're afraid he's too f***ing stupid to realize he can't and kill somebody anyway.

Flying elbow to the neck from behind while boarding?

Yeah, I don't think that that's a legal play.

Byfuglien was someone who hit hard. Rempe is not.
