There has been plenty of big guys in the league who know how to make legal hits so the height argument doesn't hold water at all.
You can watch the video of the hit in slow motion , Rempe comes in to the hit with his elbow up and hits Heiskanen in the neck/back of the head.

Unless you leave on a strecher after a hit it doesn't mean the player is faking an injury. One can be hurting without needing medical attention.
