Thought I was unique with the Alexei Kasatonov one and naturally the post above me used him too.

I almost went with Eric Bertrand for 90s Devils but couldn't remember if he suited up in any games. Patrik Elias and Brendan Morrison held out to begin the 1999-00 season. I remember Scott Gomez telling the story about how that opened up a spot and it was down to him and Bertrand. Bertrand would be traded to Atlanta after Elias/Morrison signed in late October. Gomez had gotten to a fast start, otherwise he might have be ticketed for the AHL.
