Pretty typical of Boston leafs game. The bruins are the darlings of the league right now. Saying that. Mo was out of position and that hook in OT was the right call.
I don't recall seeing a hook called on a box out, stick on stick, yes it rides up near the gloves, but it's not the blade of the stick reaching in.

The more time goes on the more he turns into Babcock. If Pittsburgh fires Sullivan we need to snatch him immediately

Well, we're in load management season so one game doesn't tell the whole story, but ever since Keefe took over it's not like the organization has been rewarded for leaning heavily on the Big 4 in big moments.

Did they review it, or did the other ref intervene and overrule the call? Are they not allowed to defer the call to the other ref?

They made the call, fans booed, they showed it on the big screen, and it was overturned. They announced it unless I am not remembering correctly, but it got shown on the big screen it appeared and then they got together.

It was a great game for both teams.
But at the end, the Leafs just didn’t have that extra bit that give them the win or over the hump. Call it clutch or champ DNA. Hopefully ROR will provide that in the playoffs.

Well, Boston also has 4 guys in stripes calling chintzy hold calls on routine defense and apparently calling back penalties based on the mood of the crowd.

You're telling me Keefe plays Marner 22+ minutes (without OT) against scrub teams we won't be facing, but 16 mins against a team he needs to build up some strategies against?

Typical.

Also O’reillys first game back from a broken finger, and the genius Keefe has him take the OT face off.

This coach just can’t get out of his own way.
I don't understand why MO didn't immediately join the play after the pk? I understand that they had 2 D out already, but at least get possession first.

I think it's just lack of motivation for end of season low stakes games.

Not thats it an excuse but he always tends to respond better under pressure

If Nylander was always on and dependable to show up and played with drive, he would be a Nikita Kucherov level player. But he's not. He's William Nylander.

They announced it and then Jeremy Jacobs probably called down and everyone got back onto the WWF script.
gotta get the record! that was not right what they did, oh well, hope they lose in round 1, cant stand the cheating bs they get away with... why build a team spend all the money, to let the refs decide the result, makes the league look bush league

Thread title is pretty embarrassing, I thought the refs were fine tonight. If we're referring to that OT penalty getting overturned, it was the right call. Both guys put their hand on the puck, either toss them both or just let them be.

You didn't see Luke Schenn get a kneeing penalty missing his man, or McCabe get called on the Coyle dive where he smirked or Rielly getting called on a defensive play Boston makes every shift? That's 3 shit calls to try and get us a Pastrnak PP goal.

Really wanted them to win in regulation as a gut check win. Once it went to OT I closed my notebook. If the Leafs would have gotten the 4 on 3 and that was Matthews with the one timer I'd feel better but really changes nothing. Solid game.

Yeah, I'm assuming that's more the case. I just can't fathom a pro being butthurt about a scrub and a mid Dman being traded; trades happen.

They usually are aren't they? But it I'm guessing they're referring to the kneeing call on 44. Hoping, anyway.
