I love that part about this game. The immersion is awesome. You spend so much time riding around and (for me) hunting a lot, then by the time you stumble upon a card game it's a nice change of pace from everything else.

I agree about that mission with Lenny. It was hilarious.

I sell and/or discard most of my stuff. You can always donate trinkets like pocket watches, rings, belt buckles, etc. to the camp, as well.

Careful with the cheat codes, you can’t save manually and it shuts off all trophies/achievements for the rest of the game

If you are collecting perfect pelts for crafting, do you have to hold all the pelts for that item or can you give some to Pearson and go back later for the rest instead of carrying everything?

Just a heads up, there's currently a very common major bug early in the game.

I try make it short,
when you reach start of chapter 2 don't do anything before speaking with John,Abigail,Jack and Sadie.
and do not do uncle mission first(you can do it as second mission).
Otherwise you might lose those 4 characters for the entire of the game( beside scripted missions).

EDIT 1: I see many people asking how to fix this. So here are the steps:
1.Save at start of chapter 2.
2.Talk with John,Abi,Jack and sadie.
3.Sleep until night to make sure they are still there
4.Do any mission EXCEPT UNCLE mission.
5.go back and see if they are still there.
6.Enjoy the game.
Now I'm not sure if that's the fix but it worked for me the 2 times I test it out.

Edit 2:For people saying they are not supposed to be in camp I have played chapter 2 with and without them and there is huge difference.
Edit 3: People are saying it get fixed at chapter 4, since I played chapter 2 twice and did testing for bug I haven't reached there yet but I believe them.
Edit 4: Apparently they are writing articles about this issue now so it won't be long before rockstar will address this issue.

I'm towards the end of chapter 2 and just been doing a lot of exploring/side stuff so far, so I'll probably just continue doing non-mission things until it's fixed.

I really enjoyed RDR...however i find with games like GTA the world is so big i get overwhelmed and just skip the missions and get bored.

Anyone else like that?

I'm towards the end of chapter 2 and just been doing a lot of exploring/side stuff so far, so I'll probably just continue doing non-mission things until it's fixed.

I've seen Jack and Sadie at camp but not Abigail and John said he was going back to Valentine to collect his sheep money so figured that's why he's gone. Is he supposed to be back at camp?

I would recommend restarting and follow the workaround. There’s some key story development with these characters in chapter two. One of them is huge.

I feel like this is a game where it's better to do the missions instead of constantly exploring. I think they designed it in such a way. Missions seem to yield the most money, and looting and robbing isn't easy if you don't want to get caught. I think they designed it to have a lot of witnesses around, and to make looting very slow.

It's almost like, stop trying to loot everything in the world and play the damn game! I like it.

Thank God I didn't get that game-breaker.

After spending the majority of my time hunting and doing various Master Hunter challenges (12-15 hours or so) and things like that I've finally gotten to the point where I can fish. I've discovered one Legendary Fish pond, but I'm guessing that I don't have the proper bait/lure for this yet. I went and purchased a new lure, but I'm not sure what I need for the legendary guy.

Pretty sure it happened to me too. I'm towards the end of chapter 2 I think .Will probably just keep playing and see if they patch it somehow. I'm playing single player to finish it, and then I'll probably do mostly online when that comes out.

I don’t talk to anyone at camp so tough for me to tell if this is an issue but John is always guarding camp whenever I come back into it so hopefully it’s not an issue here. I didn’t do the uncle thing first. I just got to the party at the camp and John and everyone was there. Now I just had a mission with John pop up.

The one where you take the wagon with uncle and three women in the back into Valentine. It's right at the beginning of Chapter 2.
