FML, I robbed the back of the doctor's store in Valentine and got that sweet revolver. Well, I think I must have lost it when I played the last mission of Chapter II by accidentally switching the weapons because I have two worn-out Cattle Revolvers and one good-conditioned Cattle Revolver.

Any chance I can get it back somehow?

Check your horse.

fffffffffffuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuuu

Nothing would kill my buzz more than having to restart and re-do everything. If it's so important, I really hope Rockstar can figure out a way to force these things later into the game with a patch for the people who missed out on them.

You mean you didn’t manually save your progress? That’s GTA/Rockstar Games 101

Huh looks like i missed the fishing misson like many other people but john Abigail and jack are still all at camp thus far. I only have one more mission on the map but i have a 280$ bounty in that territory so i want to pay it off first. Can i still go fishing? Or am i hooped now as i dont have a fishing rod?

I just did a second fishing mission and it was a main story mission with Dutch.

So I didn't read this thread or know about the bug and I literally just got to chapter 2 and did the Uncle mission 1st.

No one is at the camp. I'm irritated

So if we got the fishing mission we're all good?

when do you get the fishing mission? is it there from day 1 in the camp or do you have to other missions first?.

If the developers cant fix the bug properly they should update something so you can start again from the start of chapter 2, I cant do a 3 hour tutorial again it was painful.

Will the horse only auto follow the path in cinematic mode?

Also, I keep reading that you unlock the fence from a mission from Hosea after you do the mission with Kieren early in chapter 2, but I've finished that one and Hosea doesn't have any missions for me after the bear hunt. Anyone know how far along you have to be?

I don't think Hosea's fence mission comes up immediately after the bear one I think there might be a trigger mission with someone else before he comes up. At least it seemed that way for me

I was able to get it to show up finally. Had to do a main story mission (BTW that mission with Lenny in the bar is incredible) and a mission for Uncle before it showed up.

Another question for folks: I had the legendary wolf pelt on my horse and I stumbled onto some guys that shot me repeatedly in the face and I died. The game said something about my pelt being gone. Is it gone for good? Can I rehunt the thing, or how does that work?

If you head to the Trapper in St. Denis you can retrieve the lost Pelt, even if you haven't met him prior to killing the legendary beast.

You won't get any money for selling the pelt, but you can still use it to craft different clothing items.

I just finished "The Stalker" outfit and it's freakin' awesome!! There's something cool about wearing an outfit entirely from animals that you've tracked down and hunted.

I have never sold a pelt to the trapper. I get distracted and lose it off my horse usually crashing into a tree haha.

It took a good damn long time for that mission to pop for me, with the note that I'm not exactly moving the story along quickly (still doing most side-quests as they pop up).

The only reason that awful bug didn't get me is that I still haven't had any Uncle missions pop, and I'm onto the third chapter now.

I still have no idea if I got the bug or not. I do have John's 1st mission available so perhaps Jack and Abigail's missions become available after I complete this one

I had to kill my horse yesterday, f*** me I felt sad I loved that horse. I bought for like 10 bucks and it was tiny compared to others but I had maxed it out.

I can kill 50 random strangers who never meant me no harm, including lassoing and drowning them or putting them on train tracks and have a chuckle about it, but my horse man I still feel bad now! always have horse revive on you

I definitely did one or two John missions before the fishing mission popped. The Sadie mission popped directly after the fishing mission for me.

ahh its starting sound like I didn't get the bug, that makes me very happy. I haven't really been doing story missions just in case I had it and got too far ahead.

Honestly, that's what I spend most of my time doing in this game. I can't tell you how many times I've crashed my horse and had to pick the pelt back up off the ground, lol.

Hunting various animals and going after some of the Legendary ones is so much fun. Some of the hunts can actually be pretty epic. I recently tracked the Legendary Moose for about 20 minutes or so. I started tracking it at night, so by the time I was closing in on it, it there was a thick layer of fog rolling in from the lake. Seeing that big monster of a Moose (that thing really is HUGE) coming strolling into a clearing through a thick fog was just epic.

The Legendary hunting trips can really be fun when you're using the actual legendary animal map as opposed to googling the locations. It really gets me immersed into the game.

There is a mission from Hosea at the camp where he takes you on a hunting trip. He gives you the Legendary Animal map after this mission is over.

Some guy just gives it to you. I was given it after completing a mission. Forget whether it was a main mission or a stranger mission.

Not specifically directed at you but I think people need to just play the missions instead of ignoring them and trying to go directly to precisely what they think they want to do (i.e. “I don’t want to do the main story missions! I just want to fish! How do i get the fishing rod?!”).

Just do the missions and you will unlock stuff along the way. I just got a nice fishing boat after doing a story mission with Dutch.

Yeah, I've found that most of the time if you "can't" do something, that it's unlocked in a story mission. Chapter 2 is kind of like an in-depth tutorial, still introducing a lot of different aspects of the game.

Sometimes I tend to get ahead of myself in terms of getting distracted by side missions or my own tasks, but I always revert to story missions if I ever feel blocked from certain things.

Yeah this isn’t BOTW. You don’t have everything available to you immediately. It’s a lot more traditional a videogame in that sense.

the legendary bear hunt? oh I must have then. So it doesn't pre load their areas on to the main map?

no not what I meant at all. With this giant bug going round im more just trying to find out if ive missed it or not. There are things if you move on you can never do again, not fishing specifically but other missions apparently
