wow! like this pick for them but this makes things interesting.

No way Arizona passes on Wright right?

L Hughes (6’2) .- Hamilton (6’6)
Siegenthaler (6’2) - Nemec (6’1)
Graves (6’5) - Severson (6’2)

Smith (5’11)
Okhotyuk (6’2)
Mukhamadullin (6’4)
Bahl (6’6)
Walsh (6’0)
Graves is as good as gone with the LD depth. Not a good use of cap space when you can have an ELC solid defender like Okhotyuk or Bahl on the 3rd pair. I'd also think about moving Severson if the right hockey trade can be made though if he's willing to sign a team friendly deal there is flexibility since there is a lack of RD in the pipeline outside of Nemec.

Okhotiuk and Bahl were better than Graves during their end of seasons stints. And Smith who was horrible all year. Smith and Graves are both expendable to different degrees and Severson is probably more expendable and less likely to be resigned now with Nemec being drafted.

I agree I think graves is gone. It was more of a potential lineu but my hopes are in a couple of years our d looks more like this…

L Hughes - Hamilton
Okhotyuk - Nemec
Siegenthaler - Possibly Severson

I’m hoping NJ uses their 2nd on another rhd today (preferably Noah Warren if he’s still there.

Good pick, it took a lot of balls for Fitz to pass on the two centers although I think half the Devils board is on suicide watch.

Two-way defensemen with such high vision and poise are rare. He's pretty polished for such a young player and should come over to North America immediately, I expect he'll start in Utica and get some NHL games this season.

Luke Hughes and Simon Nemec will probably both make the 2023-24 opening night roster, with Dougie Hamilton and Jonas Siegenthaler. That's a very sexy top-4. Looking at Jack Hughes, Nico Hischier, Jesper Bratt, Alex Holtz, Dawson Mercer, and Yegor Sharangovich in the top-6, all homegrown, is sexy as hell too.

Just get me a real coach and a starting goalie.

We'll see. All i can say is that I liked Nemec a lot every time I saw him play, and thought that Wright was mildly disappointing every time I saw him play. Maybe I was overreacting because i was led to believe that Wright would be an elite talent in previous years, but he didn't pop at all to me.
