Slightly worse than Trouba.:naughty:

Seriously though, I think he'll be good enough for it to seem unfair when looking at Nashville D-men since the lockout. When Weber starts slowing down, I think Jones will be good enough for it to not be noticeable.

Hes so good. The only way he will have a quieter career is due to the fact he is on Nashville. Not trying to bad mouth the Preds but they seem to always be a boring team. If he had gone to Avs, FLA or TBay, he would be a lot more talked about and many people would consider him one of the most exciting young players on a young exciting up n coming team. Honestly, I always kinda forget about him in Nashille.... he will quietly be one of the best young dmen in the league in a few years

I do like the Pietrangelo comparisons, though I'd say a bit flashier offensively, and not quite as rock solid defensively. Maybe Pietrangelo with a sprinkling of Myers. I can definitely see him as a top 10 dman in the league, maybe even top 5. His combination of size, skill and smarts is extremely rare.

Think a Norris Trophy is in his future.

I've seen a lot of hype concerning d-man over the last few years and there were few I thought met the hype and I have mostly been proven right but Jones is one who I thought and still think will meet it.

Pretty much everything is there for him to be one of the best, he's got all the physical tools plus he is smart and I think he has a winners mentality.

Full package IMO.

To think this guy went #4 kind of blows my mind. The cream of the top end was pretty strong in that draft.

I think Jones has the tools, smarts and skills to become the best defenseman in the league one day.

A rare combination of high end skills and vision along with an excellent build.

I would compare him to Ryan Suter ! Great two way defenceman and around 45 points per season

My thoughts as well.

Not someone who will routinely find themselves in hitting or goal scoring montages, but someone who will always be doing things right, and making the smart plays consistently at both ends of the ice.

Capable of logging upwards of 30 Minutes a game, playable in all situations, 40-50 points a season, etc.

One year since the 2013 draft and so far its shaping up to rival the 03 draft for sure. Incredible talent at the top, and even the picks after the Top 4 are showing strong developmental patterns.

Don't see him growing and developing behind Weber as much as he could, sort of like Pietrangelo's needing EJ's slot to develop.

Real good, should of gone second to Mackinnon.

He'll turnout very good, but wouldn't waste a second on a thought of trading Barkov for him straight up.

*EDIT*: Next season should show wether the same thing could be said about Drouin (right now it'd easily be Jones)

I think he's going to be a very good 1. Maybe even a perennial post season all star if all goes right.

He's going to be a bigger defenseman that doesn't play real physical but isn't pushed around.

He's one of the best skaters I've seen and has the hands of a winger.
