Modern day Scott Stevens, cleaner with perhaps more offensive potential.

Held his own physically and defensively on the Griffins last year in the two games I saw. Improving offensively. Love his game.

People always forget about Stevens days with the caps. I dont think he has close to the offensive potential of Stevens. Late 80s Stevens was finishing top 5 in point for dmen

They just lost to Russia in the quarters by a goal. Not sure what this passive aggressive post is about?

Not sure why you think it's passive aggressive. They'd be the same way they were last year. Competitive when their stars are on the ice, an abomination when they're not.

Would've been great for Germany, but it would've done nothing but impede Seider's development.

I'm not sure playing 25-30 minutes a night against his peers in a high intensity tournament would have impeded his development but to each their own.

Missing two weeks coming into and going out of a tournament they had little chance of medaling in, with or without him, is the biggest issue.

But even if they didn't have to quarantine, he's too big and too advanced at this stage in the game for WJCs.

Bruh.... unless the guy comes into the NHL and wrecks it like McAvoy, Werenski and Sergachev he's getting a bit too hyped. I'm not trying to take anything away from him. But when the thread is breaking out "Scott Stevens" comparisons instead of remarks of Seider being his own man and the guy literally gets his own thread on HF Main... the train is going a little bit too far.

Really wish he went to the WJC. Would have been really fun to see what Germany could do with Seider and Reichel added to that roster.
I think it would have been too dangerous for other players. Those are children he'd be playing against.

I think Seider and Reichel absolutely make Germany a threat to medal. Imagine that team that lost by a goal to Russia playing with Seider on the ice half the game instead of no names on d.

Why wouldn't he get his own thread as a 6th overall pick that was notable from the start?

People are enjoying what he has to offer at such a young age, especially considering how many people were surprised to see him picked so high in the draft.

Lmao. Like 6 games "impede" Seider's development. Howling.

He woulda had to miss a whole month of hockey to play 5 games against juniors when hes been dominating men in one of the best leagues in the world though. 2 week quarantine before and after the tourney and then taking a step down in competition.

Not sure it impedes his development necessarily but I think he definitely made the choice that was better for his development

Im actually a bit shocked he didn't. I get the SHL argument but this is one of the best teams Germany's assembled, some teams in the NHL let go of prospects to go play there and for him not to go was.. interesting, albeit understandable to a degree.

Nonetheless I think woulda been more momentous for him to have joined them. He might have been difference maker in that quarter finals game because rest of Germany's defense was putrid on Russia's forecheck and breakout ability.

Wtf else was he doing that was as meaningful. Playing against players in Orebro with no fans? Training camp for NHL started like 3 days ago.

Hes currently the number one defenseman on the best team in the Swedish hockey league right now and absolutely dominating that league while hes at it
Sorry, but I don't think missing out on like 8 games will massively hinder a prospect's development.

8 games plus practice time. A whole month of just sitting in your room doing nothing in quarantine wouldnt be great for him I'm sure.

I said I didnt think it would hinder him really either, but that doesnt mean its going to help him develop as much as staying in the SHL either. He has nothing to prove against kids anymore, only thing he really has left to prove is if he can dominate against NHLers really

How I learned to love the Seider Bomb on HF Main is a bit too far. If we agree to disagree then hey... No one is gonna die over it

He’s a promising prospect with a high ceiling. Stevens was a player who played the same position as Seider; who laid out some monstrous hits (as Seider does) and year in and out was an MVP on his team. Seider has the potential to do and be the same. Potential =/= reality, but maybe you should reconsider “he’s getting to hype” because he has the tools to potentially obtain the same level as play as an older player from another generation who happened to be one of my favourite players growing up :):sarcasm:

but again, it’s all about reaching his potential, so only time will tell
