Not saying Fowler is a bad skater...I'm saying that Drysdale is a better skater.
Don’t agree much with the Folwer comparison. He plays a much more mature responsible game than Cam did at that age

I’m waiting to see how Drysdale (and Byram too) does against better competition. TBH I haven’t been liking his game too much, but that could be because the competition hasn’t been very good. He might look better against better players.IMO he has skillset and style of game of Fowler but controls the game like Keith. Remember that Fowler was playing top 4 at 18 anyway, lol. He'll settle anywhere between those two which is a bonafide number 1. Only thing that can/might limit him is size but his IQ too great for that.
He is Canadas best defensemen imo. Who do you want on the ice with 1 minute left and a 1 goal lead Drysdale or Byram.
Who would you want on the ice with 1 minute left with a 1 goal deficit Drysdale or Byram?
They have played different roles this tournament. It is crazy to say one is better then the other.

Personal observation that he’s a lot more polished than Fowler at that age. I’m well aware of where Cam was playing at that ageI disagree. Cam is a fantastic skater and was even better when he first came into the league.
At the age Cam was playing top 4 minutes in the NHL. It’s very easy to say he is better defensively then Cam when he isn’t in the NHL.
I agree I don't get the Fowler comp at all besides the mobility. Jamie is far more advanced defensively and he has a better understanding of how to use his skating as a weapon in the offensive zone. Where Cam was or is great is skating pucks out of trouble and leading rushes but they are different players to meDon’t agree much with the Folwer comparison. The Ducks dcore was a disaster and while Cam may have been capable of playing in the league then, like Drysdale probably is, that doesn't mean he should have beenI disagree. Cam is a fantastic skater and was even better when he first came into the league.

I never can tell if I’m in the Sanderson thread or the Drysdale thread either.I'm being thick here with this thread, I thought I was commenting on a statement that Sanderson was better than Drysdale hence my statement that people were saying three games ago he was a bum (Sanderson)
I never can tell if I’m in the Sanderson thread or the Drysdale thread either.
Hey, he’s good for sure, but your statement that “he’s the best d prospect” opens the discussion to include other d prospects, who some might see as better, like Sanderson.I dont understand why some would get so triggered by praise of drysdale. Hes the best d prospect in the world right now (arguably byram i guess). This was a unanimous opinion a few months ago and now some are trying to argue it. Why? Hes dont nothing but excel in the only hockey being played right now.
Funny just a few months ago drysdale was unanimously considered the best in the draft. And hes showing that in the wjcs.Hey, he’s good for sure, but your statement that “he’s the best d prospect” opens the discussion to include other d prospects, who some might see as better, like Sanderson.
He’s great. I’m looking forward to seeing how he does against the better teams at the WJCs.Its just jealousy. There is no other reason to bring talk of another prospect in here.
I’m not saying he isn’t the best d prospect. I’m saying your comment that he is the best d prospect opens the discussion to other posters suggesting names of d prospects they see as equal to or better, right? Heck, I don’t know if he’s the best d prospect on the Canadian team?Funny just a few months ago drysdale was unanimously considered the best in the draft. And hes showing that in the wjcs.
except he wasn't the first defensemen taken so it was not unanimous?Funny just a few months ago drysdale was unanimously considered the best in the draft. And hes showing that in the wjcs.
That and months can make a big difference in 18 and 19 year old players’ physical and emotional development. Where a guy was several months ago compared to his peers (at 18) doesn’t mean that’s where he is now in that same group. He could be the same, but it’s far more likely those young guys shuffle around as the grow and mature.except he wasn't the first defensemen taken so it was not unanimous?

Yes as i said, you can make an argument for byram. The avs are stacked.I’m not saying he isn’t the best d prospect. Best dman in the draft. It was unanimous.A few months ago the draft was held, and uh, Drysdale was not considered the best (let alone d prospect in the world). And going into the draft, many of the latest mocks had Sanderson ahead of Drysdale as info on how the scouts really feel came out. Agree this is not a Sanderson (or Byram) thread, but stating things like he is the best d-prospect in the world, sort of deliberately draws other players into it (Byram, Seider, Sanderson, Power, Clarke to name a few others).
But Drydale has been terrific and I while there will be varying opinions on where he fits in the rankings to be sure, any team would love to have him.
Byram and seider were not in the draft. Ive already pointed out you can make an argument for byram.except he wasn't the first defensemen taken so it was not unanimous?
Also some might consider Byram and Seider better prospects
