No surprise from me from Sandin ... seen his strength from day 1 watching Marlie games live .. his core strength is likely tops on team .. I have seen guys 250 lbs run him at full blast when he was on da Marlies trying to deliberately knock him out of playoff games .. and every time da beast went down; not Sandin .. it is pure narrative that he developed this strength over this past summer .. he has likely had it his whole life ... you either have it or you don't .. he does .. his core strength is incredible .. but for those of you who are seeing him only with Leafs it would be hard to know .. he needs to stay in lineup to get more experience

Rest Holl and Muzzy and Rielly over last few games and get some games for Lily and Hutton ... we will likely need 1 or 2 of them during playoff run .. Keefer this is more important then most everything else you do with your lineup so do da right thing here please

Amazing, it looks like Wheeler was going to drive him into the boards, surprise Wheeler, jokes on you.

Sandin isn't actively physical but he knows how to rough it up when required, he's not like Morgan Rielly who is pretty soft in that department and won't really hit anyone.

I think as he becomes a 23-24 year old guy, he'll use that more to his advantage. It's rare to have a PMD that can also dish out hits and not just pucks.

I didn't even think a check like that was possible, first time I've seen it. You have to think guys are going to think twice or at least slowup when coming up behind Sandin. So much for the old line you're defenceless with your back to a guy.

Wheeler got dummied and Scheifele got benched,Ehlers got owned and Dobois ran with his tail between his legs. It has a nice ring to it when you look at it in it’s entirety.

Blow them out the next one would be the icing on the cake. :)

When 2 players are going to the corner together, it’s common for inside player to brace like this before they get pinned in to reduce their impact against the boards.

What went wrong here is that Wheeler wasn’t planning to pin Sandin, instead he reached for a poke so the brace hit him hard.

I guess I always miss it then, I understand you say you don't think he was going to drive Sandin into the boards but given the atmosphere of the game and previous game I think that is what he was going to do. He may have tried to camouflage it by making it look like a reach. He certainly didn't see it coming though.

haha Sandin flattened him and he did time it on him. It was a hit. A perfectly timed hit too. :)

Some just love the drama.
No drama makes for a boring game. lol! That is exactly what the telecasts are lacking. Buildup the drama in the pregame, stir it up get the excitement flowing.

What do we get? Anywhere from 10 to 20 minutes of tear jerk public service announcements and reporting. Are we then fired up? Enjoy the game. Yeah right.

I can only imagine what Brodie would do on the right side of Sandin. Brodie does alot of things to make his partner look good. Trade Reilly in the off season. He is a #3 on a cup contending team, we have seen his warts and I think Reilly is a major liability in a 2-1 playoff hockey game not only in his own zone but anywhere.

He was being targeted by Winnipeg physically early in this game and the game before. Reallt like that targeting him backfired on them in a big way.

Crazy you say this, I recall another somewhat smallish guy who could move the puck and could really dish, his name Chris Chelios
