2-4-3
Flyers without Risto:

Coincidence?

Risto's last five games, GF/GA 4-3, xGF 52.42%, xGFrel +0.25
Is it sustainable? Who knows. That's why they play the games.

Yes, that's the problem, everybody "knows" instead of waiting to see the evidence.Everyone knows it's not.
I was kidding, mostly.
Even so, I still think this team is better without Ristolainen. I'm sure he's a fine human being, but the circumstances around trading for him, and re-signing him are Exhibit A of what's rotten in Philadelphia.
So, much like AMac, the circumstances have made me dislike the player even though it is no fault of his own.

He's such a massive black hole in multiple aspects of the game that he makes winning very hard. His TOI is way down, thankfully. He's at 16mins instead of 21. Playing him for 21 minutes is 21 minutes where you're generally getting caved in; 1/3 of the game where you're losing. That's hard to compensate for. Even at 1/4 of the game, that's 1/4 of the game where the other team has a huge advantage because he's on the ice. It's almost like being shorthanded. It's bad.
Going into his draft year, I was hoping that Ristolainen would fall to the Flyers. Size, RHD, good scouting reports, etc. Then the Sabres got him. After watching him play there, my call was that the Flyers were lucky to have not taken him. Too often he was a clown on the ice making silly plays. Then the Flyers gave up a ransom to obtain him. I think that he has played better here than when he was in Buffalo but he still sucks.
His scoring is a perfect example of how players can produce more than they should based on usage alone. In Buffalo he was just as bad defensively but provided some offense.
Here he might actually be the worst, most worthless player in the entire league and easily the worst contract.

Bury a good player? No scoring.
Forcefeed an awful player tons of time with the teams best players? They’ll get points.
Did you get the milk yet? Will you be back soon?Good to see nothings changed around here. Carry on.
Rasmus Ristolainen is the best defenseman in the NHL.

With emphasis on the prefix Commod(e)....You do know he isn't a mystery box, right? He's a very known commodity.
to soon to judge..Will be, he's not quite there yet !!
