I think Diaz is insurance for Stralman if he leaves/Klein if Stralman resigns and he is then traded.

I don't understand the move when Diaz could have conceivably been signed without giving up the 5th round pick.

I guess they are thinking they can sign a contract now. I think Stralman is a cap casualty and Diaz is a good cheap replacement.

I don't get this move. They have Falk already and he's awful but they gave up another pick to fix a mistake they made. So two wasted draft picks for guys who will barely play.

I know it's late round picks but I'd rather have a shot to draft a Hagelin or a Fast (yes he hasn't reached the NHL yet but he's been doing fine in Hartford so far in his young career) then have scrub DMen.

When is Diaz going to play? What about Connor Allen? Hartford is not making the playoffs.

And this garbage with the Rangers having a deep playoff run? I'll see it when I believe it. This team will be lucky to make the playoffs and lucky not to draw Boston or Philly.

Goal vids or highlight vids are no way of judging a player. You can make a 10-minute highlight reel of Derek Dorsett and he would look like freaking Jagr.

Yes a defenseman who's averaging around 15 mins per game with terrible possession numbers is suddenly better than the one who's averaging around 20 with the best possession numbers on the team.

So when exactly did Klein take his spot? Stralman and Staal are still rocking it as a 2nd pair.

Stralman with another dominant performance. The ice heavily tilts towards NYR's favor when Stralman is on. (+ 20 Corsi +/-)

Klein today had 13 mins with (+4 Corsi +/-).

But he's easily surpassed him since the Olympic break...

I'm guessing we see Rafael Diaz' Rangers debut on Sunday to give Stralman rest for that injury he sustained tonight. He kept playing and looked ok, but there might've been more to that injury that he let on.
