Confirmed with Link: Raphael Diaz to NYR for 2015 5th Round Pick

Diaz was traded for Weise, right?

He is a good D. Has been a top 4 D for Montreal for long stretches. Compareable to Strålman IMO.
 
Is Diaz going to be pissed that Sather didn't send a private jet for him?
 
#5 in the AV system.

RHD, can be used on the PP. Nice shot, good passer. Small and not physical but has a good stick and excellent gap control. Seems to avoid contact after a concussion(?) in Montreal.

Funny when the Nucks traded for him I was so happy because he's the perfect AV player and I though Gillis had a change of heart regarding the Nucks team complexion. Turns out he gets scratched and dealt when he played well.

Sad to see him go but a nice pickup for Sather.
 
Gives an extra right handed D as our 7/8 with lefty Falk

No real chance of cracking the lineup currently without an injury, I'd imagine.
 
Who will sit for this guy? Or do you think he'll be a 7th dman?
 
Is interesting to think why they didn't make a move for a dman in 2012, doesn't it? Was there really no one available? Still look back in amazement at our contentment to stick with Bickel that year.

He had one really good season, and looked extremely promising. Then he fell of the map and lost his value.

He has potential and can play at this level. Not a bad trade for a 5th rounder.

How?

McD, Girardi, Staal, Straalman, and Klein are definately over him. Moore is an LD?

I mean it's great for depth, but other than that I can't see him playing much, unless he can play LD.

Maybe not a #5 on your depth chart but he can handle #5 minutes in AVs NYR system, if that makes sense.

Is that a no on him playing LD?

If he can it wouldn't be the end of the world for him to get some games.
