Mikos- Yeah, but Diaz is a very solid decision maker. Much more similar to a young Rozsival than DZ IMO. Del Zotto is more all over the place.

A 28 year old, completely one dimensional defender who is now on his 3rd team is here to address that? God help us.

I don't doubt his talent. I do, however, doubt his abilities to apply it at the NHL level.

He's a very good guy to have as an extra. Is a legit #5-6 on most teams. Don't get the unecessary hate for him. Diaz is way better then Falk. I also think he's better then Moore and of late, potentially Stralman.

I'm not hating on him. I'm hating on the idea that this team hasn't had a legitimate offensive threat from the blueline for years, and that if they sign Stralman, they still won't going into next year barring a major shakeup.

I'm hoping that Diaz plays well enough to surpass Klein, but AV seems to be married to Klein like he was with Aaron Rome with the Canucks.

I think Diaz is insurance for Stralman if he leaves/Klein if Stralman resigns and he is then traded.

I don't understand the move when Diaz could have conceivably been signed without giving up the 5th round pick.

Why are you so hung up on Klein? Is it because he's seriously outplayed Stralman and took his spot?

Seriously outplaying is quite a stretch. Klein, in his 10 GP has only managed more ice time than Stralman in that same span in 1 game only, which is the most recent one vs. Boston. Of course, we're basing everything on recent games so now we'll go through revisionist history and state that Stralman's play has been in the gutter for awhile.

Seriously outplaying! :biglaugh:

Wow people just needed any excuse to turn on the non-physical dman. 2 bad games is just what was needed.

Non-physical is funny to describe Stralman.

Stralman 2013/14 Hits per game: 0.9
Klein (Rangers) 2013/14 Hits per game: 0.8

Leads me to believe signing Stralman is bleak.

I don't think this has anything to do with Stralman. It's a depth move for a late pick. Both players are UFA's after this season. I think Sather saw how poorly off the Rangers were when Bickel was seeing time in the playoffs. He's stocking up to avoid that situation again…

it shows he does not trust Allen or McIlrath yet.. Allen i think didnt look bad in the games he played. McIlrath 2 years away at most.

Merge Diaz with Klein and you've got a perfect RHD.

I think this guy can fit in real well with AV. Wouldn't be surprised to see Rangers resign him too.

I can practically smell the bitterness on you. :biglaugh:

Fact of the matter is that Klein has been significantly better than Stralman since the Olympic break. TOI doesn't really prove otherwise. No need to get yourself in a tizzy about it.

How is a fact of matter?

Klein played 12 mins tonight lol.

Fact of matter, lol.

Yes a defenseman who's averaging around 15 mins per game with terrible possession numbers is suddenly better than the one who's averaging around 20 with the best possession numbers on the team.

So when exactly did Klein take his spot? Stralman and Staal are still rocking it as a 2nd pair.

the only thing i dont like this trade, i doubt he plays much, basically what Falk is doing... now their is no room for Miller. if Sather wanted to trade away draft picks how about for something useful like Goc or Stempniak. i wouldnt mind those two guys. center help is needed here also.
