offensive dman. great passer. great hands. very good skater. he has forward type hands and a decent shot.

soft as charmin. doesnt like contact. plays a finesse type d game.

this is an av move. fits the av dman model.

no problem with it. 5th round pick isnt a high hit pick anyway.

we do love our dmen with wheels.

makes me wonder if and when mcilrath ever gets a solid looksee.

yea I would say this means Stralman is gone as a UFA, Girardi , Klein, Diaz on RD

carry 8 D the rest of the way and let Stralman walk

I would expect either Stralman or Diaz to be gone in the offseason, but I think one of the two will be signed and I'm not going to predict which one.

I came here to complain that we didn't acquire some defensive depth and it turns out that we just did. Good pick up. We are all in this year.

I think they'll both be gone. The Rangers HAVE to get more offense from their blue line.

this guy is here to attempt to address that. av likes this guys game.

hes pretty much all offense.

pretty low risk move. his upside is an offensive pmd who can be part of the play in the o zone.

hes a very deft passer and a guy who is comfortable on the pp.

A 28 year old, completely one dimensional defender who is now on his 3rd team is here to address that? God help us.

I don't doubt his talent. I do, however, doubt his abilities to apply it at the NHL level.

thought Diaz was a RFA, as a UFA ack, Investing the 5th id want the guy signed . How is he even going to get time this yr with the top 6 set? Falk never plays as it is

I like the depth, Im sure AV will give him a shot here and there over Moore to take a look, maybe give him some PP time over Girardi? Worth a look. Decent move

OMG WTF another draft pick being traded... Gaaaahhh

Sorry just trying to fit in with the mob here.

Great pick up. Teams need depth, and Diaz adds that. I was hoping the Rangers grabbed Mike Weaver who also went for a 5th, but Diaz is a better puck handler, while Weaver is a better defender.

This guy is a poor man's Del Zotto in terms of what he brings. Not someone you want to pair with John Moore out there.

Pretty good player. Can move the puck well but was shaky defensively in his time here. Hope he works out for you.

5th rounders arent a big deal.

It's amazing how quickly the makeup/identity of this team has completely changed. I'm in favor of the new look regardless of the outcome. We looked poised to continue to actually play positive hockey for awhile.

He had one really good season, and looked extremely promising. Then he fell of the map and lost his value.

He has potential and can play at this level. Not a bad trade for a 5th rounder.

Yeah and I saw two games with Montreal in the fall this season and he played a lot and really well in a top 4 role. He is a puck mover, moves well. Decent right shot.

Definitely a good pickup for a 5th. I would rank him very close to Stralman overall.

We have very good depth this season.
