I should note that Hank has 47 shootout wins in his career, so he still has a ways to go for the adjusted record.

I think there is a guy in a MODO jersey behind the glass during the Zuccarello interview.

I think for hybrid icing, the only thing that should be changed is not allowing people that have just jumped off the end of the bench to participate in the icing/non icing race. That's BS that a guy can just change because he's too tired and another guy can hop off at the end of the bench and technically "beat out" the other player.

Other than that, another rule change I'd like to see is no goal off of skates. If it goes in off a skate, unless split second deflection (i.e off of a point or slap shot), it shouldn't count. It takes away the subjectivity of the goals allowed and disallowed. Only way that its fair.

Automatic icing. It takes care of the drama and the injuries.

Problem with both is that icing, by definition, is supposed to be an intentional act. An outlet pass that just misses should never be called icing. A deflected pass should never be called icing. A puck that could have been played by the defense should never be called icing.

This new icing "rule" allows linesmen to act like mind-numbed zombies.

He did have a great game.

Genuinely surprised we won. That is a typical Ranger loss most of the time. Not a bad game, but the missed chances are pathetic. The opposition goalies are clearly banging on the posts because they know it gets in the Ranger's heads.

I know it gets in our heads :D

Should Miller be brought back up to replace Stepan at C or is that just crazy talk?

What a crazy entertaining game! Tonight was the first time me and my Dad had seats right behind the Rangers bench (My Dad has connections and got two nice tickets). Also got a picture with the Jets DE Muhammed Wilkerson. Couldn't have asked for a better experience.

True. But at least going with automatic icing eliminates the debate over who's more likely to get to the puck first. The other points you make will always be inherent to icing. Before that, though, I'd like to get rid of hand-pass stoppages; absolutely pointless.

You could, but that would be damn greedy at this point.

I'm not even mad we cant score, what a firework of a hockeymatch this was. In both ends, from both teams.

BTW, you miss 100% of shots you don't take? Not when it's Zuccarello not shooting!

don't forget Kreider and his "divide by zero 'shot' "

Other than Hank and Zucc I thought Staal played another really solid game. Very encouraging.

I thought Poo had a good game played physical

These two posts spot on. Poo with that last clean hit, and Staal played a very sound game. Always good when you don't hear a defenseman's name announced other than "pass from ______"

Now Michael Del Zotto on the other hand... Boy oh boy, was John moore eons better than him (although he made some very good defensive plays later in tthe game)

After the awful start of the season, it now seems like the majority of the Metro is better than the bottom 5 of the Atlantic., and on par with Montreal. Take Boston and Tampa out of the mix.

I would not be shocked if the wildcard teams were the Rangers and one of (NJ, Columbus, or Carolina).

Agreed... Crazy how the standings are changing

Yeah, very entertaining hockey.

"Lundqvist became the first Rangers goalie to shut out the Red Wings since John Davidson on Nov. 27, 1976."

This appears to be the season for breaking stats from the 70's. First the 2 goals or less streak, now this.

Since he's been back, he's played his best hockey of the season. Really starting to look like his old self.

McDonagh was frustrating tonight. Don't me wrong he was good; created alot and kept Z-berg inconspicuous. But he's gotta start cashing on prime chances.

You could say that about almost everyone. Generating lots of chances. The goals will come.
