That Panarin sucks. Only a three point game. Did you see that one shift? He had a turnover. Bum.
Tonight he actually had a few meh moments. Like that wait and wait and wai.. And nothing. Or that whiff on the shot. That passing lane finder of his had problems as well. Some other frustraiting plays..
Tired after (another) b2b on the road?
But he's just.. well.. Not bad I guess)

McKegg still being in the lineup at this point is an all time finesse by him. You just can't get rid of him. He's a true cockroach's cockroach.
Every time he returns my brother sends a undertaker coming back to life gif. He sent this tonight.

Good on AG facing the music. I know all the speculation about him being some kind of monster. And I agree he needs a fresh start somewhere. But I find it hard to muster any hate for him. I can see him being fine in a different situation. Not saying he’ll be a world-beater. But sport is largely mental. And him standing up there today and hanging in there is kind of impressive to me.

If you want to argue the 4th goal was 'hard save'... how he looked on it is the problem. the first 3 were atrocious, even for Georgiev's standards

How can you play a guy that looks like that? It's embarrassing. It's not even beer league.... it would make more sense if he was actively throwing the game
I mentioned it vaguely in the GDT, but the only reason that 4th goal looked "hard" is because he jumped out of the net and half his body was on the right side of the net for the Staal slapshot. Puck gets deflected, bounces into the slot and now he's fighting to get back into the center of the net. With sound positioning that 4th goal hits him in the chest and it's a play no one is thinking about.

I'll never accuse anyone of throwing a game, but he just sucks. His problem is completely mental and he's overcompensating. When he starts attacking and moving like Hasek it is not a good sign. He doesn't have the quickness to attack like he tries sometimes, hell 99% of goalies don't.

Seider is incredible though, but yeah, what else can you expect from a team that trots out the corpse known as Marc Staal?
I thought hronek sucked too. Det is still rebuilding. This season, they had good young ins but the depth is trash. They probably add this summer imo. I like the wings. Hope yzerman does a good job there.

Chytil was very good. There was a sequence in the first period where he did a great job defensively down low in the Rangers zone and then generated offense in the offensive zone on the same shift. I wish I knew how to make and edit videos. Chytil had some good stretches last night. This player is finally showing signs of getting his game together and the media wants to trade him.

I hardly ever agree with the masses here in excoriating a player's performance. I always prefer looking on the positive side.

Like this undeserved beatdown of Ryan Strome while he is out with an injury. Yeah sure, decisions will need to be made in the offseason, but quite a few here are selling him short. When he comes back, that second line will get a real upgrade. Strome and Hunt are not even in the same ballpark.

But when speaking of Georgie, I can see why everyone is frustrated with him. Even Gallant after the game had nothing to say of his performance. When asked if he thought of taking him out, he could only muster two words. "No,... No". He could not throw him under the bus, no matter how bad he was. All he said was that he wished the team played as well as they did the night before, but found a way to win and got two points. He didn't call out anybody and for good reason. He couldn't possibly,... without starting with his netminder.

So maybe we should take a lesson from the head coach, and be more proactive in what we say. After all, Georgie did gives us quite a thrill in Carolina, that will go down as one of the best performances of the year.

I get we all rag on georgiev because he is just not truly an integral part of the team, and is at this point, a negative asset to us, but realistically- do you really think drury will keep him? Do you think geo doesn't know he is gone after this season? Guy has confidence issues and I said it before, get a sports psychiatrist. That and his 0% chance (deserved or not) of being a starter probably messed up his whole game. I think there is a starter in there, but far away, in like a small city or town. Maybe a dumpster fire org like philly or even nj lol.

At this point, we are well insulated in the playoffs and our depth will only improve with kakko and strome back . Strome kind of tailed off before his injury but maybe it was because of jt? I dont know. Guy playing a contract year, it wouldnt shock me if he played through to earn himself more money. I do want him gone next year, and i do like copp a lot, but copp is a 3c when all is said and done. He can play up and thats great, but next year we will have to think about how to upgrade at that position and I dont know how drury thinks. So far, buch trade is the only black stain on his resume. Even nemeth signing isnt that bad given that something was up with the guy all year and now he is playing decent.

best laf has ever looked on the puck. beating guys one on one, getting to the middle of the ice and being decisive taking the shot, hes got a lethal release..just missed a couple. keep that coming plz. was dangling, someone on the internet needs to gif him breaking that guys ankles...looked like datsyuk on couture. and then he showed his leadership trying to handle the georgiev issue himself. captain sht
He was as impressive as Chytil was. I gave them both stars tonight. Those two are making a name for themselves. I pray when others return from injury, he does not break these two up. I would really love it, if Kakko was reunited with them when he returns. The Kids Line 2.0

Even nemeth signing isnt that bad given that something was up with the guy all year and now he is playing decent.
I think his wife had issues with her pregnancy. That could be threatening to both wife and baby. And with everything going well,... he is just thrilled and back to playing his best hockey. I'm really happy for him.

I thought Reaves, for as bad and awful as he was yesterday, was actually pretty effective tonight.

Should 100% draw out of the lineup along with McKegg when everyone is healthy, but credit to him for not completely sucking tonight. That mantle was carried by McKegg.
You think it was just a coincidence our 4th line was our best line of the night? Every shift they hemmed the Wings in their zone for stretches at a time, causing turnovers and getting quality chances. You forget Reavo got us on the board? They were back to being the 4th line we were all raving about earlier this season. And what was the difference with this line compared to the last few games? McKegg dressed.

Don't underestimate the chemistry McKegg and Reavo have. They were awesome last night.

Yeah, and honestly, if there is a rift, it’s convenient for us if one guy is behind that and not the other, but who the heck knows. Maybe Shesty and Panarin are the sweins and not Geo. Or something in between.

I know that our coach and many players support Geo. Regardless, that is nice to see. For a long long time our dirty laundry where brought to the media to provide underperforming coaches with excuses. That is “unacceptable”. Our coaches loved to describe in public how certain named players did stuff that were “unacceptable”, but had no standards for themselves.

Georgiev is a frustrating player. He was terrific against Carolina. One of the best teams in The NHL. On the road. He follows that up with two clunkers against Buffalo and Detroit. Two of the worst teams in The NHL. Come on dude. The Rangers won those games in spite of Georgiev's performance. The Rangers need to recoup some of their traded picks and moving Georgiev in late June or early July could allow them to get one pick back which they traded away.

Just a horrific stat line and that’s with a SHUTOUT in there. That’s how bad he’s been in the other 3 games

3.11 gaa and a Save percentage of .892 for the year. It’s ridiculous
I mean, it's not great and in no way am I defending Georgiev's performance. But from a stats pov he doesn't really stand out from other backups in the league.

Out of 31 goalies who have played more than 15 and less than 30 games:
16th for GAA with 3.11. Pretty much the same as Murray, Anderson and Binnington.
25th for SV% with .892. Along with six other goalies on .89.
11th for SO with one. This stat doesn't really tell you much, as only 16 have posted a shutout.
10th for wins.

It's not good by any means, but not horrible either, compared to other backups. I think the issue is more the number of softies that get by him, the timing of when they go in and how he doesn't seem to be ready for the shot.

The fact that he ranks better for GAA and wins is a clear indication that the team is saving his behind and there are absolutely much better backups in the league, but you're not going to have 60+ great (or even good) goalies in the NHL. I'm just happy that our starter is arguably the best in the bunch.
