So your paragraph in which you mention the shortcomings of other rebuilding organizations where you list issues with their rebuild I find comical. Not because you don’t make valid points( you do) but because I read that and I say,

Poor ownership= Check!

Dolan is one of the worst owners in sports. He owns two teams and both are terrible. He cares way more about the building( which the renovation is amazing in all fairness to him.) at this point.

Lack of funds- ok Rangers have unlimited funds.

No direction- You argue the Rangers have a clear direction- “just be bad”. My argument is the direction should always be let’s be good. Seems like a no direction situation to me!

Bad development system- Check times 100! Hartford is a disaster and the Rangers are rushing players into the NHL!! I watched Lias’ interview during last nights game. He looked completely dejected! Like destroyed mentally!! That’s HORRIBLE for a players development! Sounds like a poor development system to me!

No continuity- Check again! The Rangers have about 5 guys from when they made a cup run in 2014 still on the roster. The shuttle between Hartford and the NHL has never been more active. They’ve skated over 30 players on the NHL roster this year, about the same last year and seem to have a very small core in place. They’ve gone through 2 coaches, 4 assistants 2 GM’s and that’s only what I know of!

A history of getting destroyed in trades- TBD. The McD trade when he became a Ranger for Scott Gomez several years ago was tremendous for the Rangers and Gordon has made some nice ones so far. The latest McD trade where they sent him away may be a fleecing but again not a difinitive check.

Completely whiffing on top 3 picks- TBD but the track record is leaning towards another check for the Rangers! Lias looks terrible and he was a top 10 pick! I’d also argue that teams like Edmonton and Buffalo have not totally whiffed and Ottawa has drafted pretty well!

Little to no free agent attraction- once again Check for the Rangers! No one will want to come to this dumpster fire right now. Plus the free agents the Rangers have actively pursued and signed, Kevin Shatenkirk namely, have been terrible signings. The lure of New York seems to be a thing of the past and may work against the Rangers. The team will have to overpay to get talent and that will be even worse!

So for all those distinctions you think set the Rangers apart I’d argue are not actually aspects that set them apart at all!

Yikes.....I just completely disagree with almost everything here. But I'll point out two points where you're beyond just incorrect.

Dolan may be a shitty person, but he is a good owner when it comes to the Rangers. He is hands off and lets the team spend to the cap every year, while not caring if we buyout salaries whenever necessary. He is a horrid owner when it comes to the Knicks. But don't confuse the two since his relationship with each respective org is essentially night and day. If we get an owner that ends up being hands on, you'll see the huge downside to that.

Second, the Rangers are not an attractive FA destination? Is this a serious statement? To start, bad FA signings does not = unattractive market, so that point is just straight moot. What I find interesting is you really want to sign FA's, yet you're upset about FA's the Rangers have signed in the past. You would think someone who thinks they've been idiots (which I completely agree with), would want them to show some restraint.

In addition, the Rangers are almost unanimously agreed upon to be the most attractive team for FA's in the USA. Maybe Montreal and Toronto have allure for players from Canada, so I wouldn't say the whole NHL, but for USA teams, undoubtedly. I mean, one needs to look no further than the past several decades when nearly every major FA the Rangers wanted signed here. Add in recent freebies like Hayes, Vesey and to a lesser extent Gilroy and many of the young guys who make it to FA and that basically everyone in the league wants end up as Rangers. I don't mean to sound harsh here, but it's pretty delusional to think the Rangers aren't an attractive market for players. I mean...from all reports, Panarin will be here if we give him the money he wants and we absolutely blow right now.

Also, a bit of a side note, but I wish you would chill with the exclamation points. It makes it seem like you're screaming at me or just straight up enraged. I know it's the tendency these days and as a millennial I too overuse them, but not in the context you do. It's actually hard to read because it's basically like I'm being yelled at.

Agree, and that was certainly good to see. Howden and Lias haven't shown that "on ice presence" and becoming somewhat of an offensive force like he showed. Agree, he should play out the schedule there.
But now you have Lias, Howdy doody and a dog named Boo and only 2 available spots. Now what? As far as I am concerned, Boo has been better than the others. He made things happen more often. Faster, good size, and better awareness of his teammates. A better playmaker, for now.
Just saying.

Guys like Chytil need the puck. Need to be skating up and down the rink he’s a horse. But he’s a center. He was downright dominant most of his time in the AHL at center as a barely 18 year old. Does he look ok at wing? Sure because he’s a good player. But that’s not where he’s going to be his best. He’s a centerman. A big strong skilled fast play making center. We’d be crazy to take him out of that spot.

Next year I hope he’s the 2C with Strome still here to move over there if needed. To me it’s howden who I still think is going to be very good for us in that 3C role and Nieves behind him but it will probably be Lias as the 4C and Nieves will play wing or be the 13th which is fine. He’ll get his ice Time.

I also have to say again. It’s amazing how awful vin Lettieri is at this level. Just awful. Never seen anyone so good in the A look so bad in the nhl. I’ve seen guys not produce sure but to look that dominant there and then look like you’ve never played hockey before when you get here is amazing.

Hated the signing then and really hate it more now.

Can you explain why? The signing was actually a good one, it just hasn't worked out. It seems that there would be 2 reasons to really dislike him:

1. His contract
2. His level of play

Both of these points are pretty irrelevant considering that his contract is not a problem at all and will not be prior to its expiration (he also may very well bring us back prospects and/or picks in a trade). And he is not hurting or helping a team that is contending. He's just another mediocre player on a shitty team.

I just don't get why people are getting so worked up over him. Seems like it might have to do with envy over money if I had to guess. Yet, compared to what he could have gotten from other teams, he is significantly underpaid. The bashing for other deserving guys has died down mostly because there is nothing on the line and it doesn't really matter. Shattenkirk, Smith, Staal, etc....have no future with this franchise past their contracts. Does it really matter that they suck or are overpaid relative to their cap hit when it has little to no bearing?

LOL are you really whining about how get almost universally slaughtered instead of taking a look at yourself and wondering if maybe it's just you?

You are consistently someone who posts like the sky is falling. You're boisterous, aggressive and borderline obnoxious with a lot of your posts.

There's a quote I love........."You run into asshole in the morning, you ran into an asshole, you run into assholes all day long you're the asshole". It's not the position/stance so much as it's the constant hottest of hot takes that elicit that reaction.

That does not change the fact that Gilmour is not an NHL caliber defenseman.

Stall may not have had a strong game, but overall he has been ok in a role as a third pairing defenseman. Gilmour has not been on that level. Ever.

Can you explain why?
I thought that taking a player who played sheltered minutes on his other teams (being kept away from top players) and bringing him here to be a savior was a mistake. He was not a top pairing guy and making him one was also a mistake.

The contract is an issue as he does not warrant his salary, is untradeable and now blocks one of the younger players. This will continue to happen for the next two years. IMO, the way he is playing, he is not fetching much in trade value. Otherwise, he would have been traded. Provided of course, that he waives his NTC.
And he is not hurting or helping a team that is contending. He's just another mediocre player on a ****ty team.
Whose presence takes a spot from a younger player that could be getting a look at on the rebuilding team.

There really are no words for how completely and totally horrible some of these points are.

“Both Dolan’s teams suck!!!!” Oh, wow, two WHOLE years without playoffs after making several deep runs over the course of 6 years? Disgusting! You realize that sports are cyclical, yeah? We haven’t been some shit team, this is what happens when you go all in to win and your core pieces age. And when your core pieces aren’t Crosby or Ovechkin...well...it makes it even harder.

The part about GMs and coaches is pathetically pushing a narrative you want to push. Sather was our GM for how long? Then he retired. Framing that as “going through two GMs!!!!” makes you sound like a child. And the coaches? Most teams are done with a coach after five years or so. A guy like Tortz in Nashville is the exception. You wanna see a team that goes through coaches, look at Edmonton, Ottawa, or Arizona, then get back to me.

Saying free agents won’t come here is just utterly ridiculous. Do you remember the early 2000s? Free agents care about one thing above all else - money. And we have money. If we want a guy in FA, we’ll get him if we really want him.

I thought that taking a player who played sheltered minutes on his other teams (being kept away from top players) and bringing him here to be a savior was a mistake. He was not a top pairing guy and making him one was also a mistake.

His deployment is marginally easier on the Rangers than it was on the Blues.

The contract is an issue as he does not warrant his salary, is untradeable and now blocks one of the younger players. This will continue to happen for the next two years. IMO, the way he is playing, he is not fetching much in trade value. Otherwise, he would have been traded. Provided of course, that he waives his NTC.

Who cares? We're a bottom 5 team.

Whose presence takes a spot from a younger player that could be getting a look at on the rebuilding team.
Such as?

Still does not make him a top pairing d-man

Why is it that people come out in droves to remove Pionk from the ice, but when it's time for Shattenkirk you get (Who cares?)
Hajek, Lindgren, heck Rykov next year. Pick a name and insert.

Yeah funny enough there aren't really any RD's in the system worth worrying about right now. Most of the guys even vaguely close to being ready are LD's

kinda hate to say it but pretty much the Rangers just need to lose out the rest of the season. They could have a decent chance of being 3rd last if they do so.

Would be amazing if they won the draft lottery but good things don't usually happen to the rangers

Never was, never will be, never has been on the Rangers. Literally nobody has even thought that but you.

Because Shattenkirk will be gone in two years, whereas the organization seems to really like Pionk for particular reason.

Left-handed, left-handed, and left-handed.

You don't have to like Shattenkirk and most of you who incessantly complain were never going to. Hell, I think he's been disappointing.

But the idea that he was some #5 in St. Louis and the Rangers brought him here to be Chris Pronger is complete bullshit.

The idea that his contract is holding us back is complete bullshit.

The idea that those 13 games in Washington were the biggest 13 games in NHL history is complete bullshit. f*** Washington and f*** their 13 games.

It's a narrative, and we're not actually talking about play. Which, again, indicates to me that this was going to happen even if he came here and was fantastic.

I recall many debates here at the time of the signing and that is what he was called. People usually do not get ecstatic about third pair defensemen.

What purpose is he serving now? And you have no idea about Pionk.
Left-handed, left-handed, and left-handed.
Pick player X from Hartford for a look see or anyone else that comes over the next several years.
