I've run out of things to blame so I'm going to expand my list:

1. BlueshirtBlitz: For removing his "Bard" Richards avatar.
2. KreiMeARiver: For ditching his successful NHL 13 pre game predictions.
3. nevesis: For reminding me how much money Richards makes.
4. Machinehead: For boycotting, then not, then boycotting, then not.
5. Ailurophile: For speaking of conspiracy theories in the OT thread.
6. Bill Pidto: Seriously. **** that guy.
7. This Strawberry Jam: It sits in my fridge and reminds me of the obvious.
8. Insomnia: Overslept and missed a class today.
9. Field Marshal Bernard Montgomery: For enacting Operation Market Garden. It was bad.

I may have missed a few.

I just got back from the game and I don't know what to say.

Lundqvist cost the team the game. Simple as that. I know he had no chance on the three first goals, but the team tried to get back into the game. No goalie who thinks they're elite should allow that goal. I know there are a lot of Lundqvist defenders here and you were probably defending him the entire game on the GDT, but there shouldn't be a single person defending him here. He cost the team the game.

There were at least three fights in the crowd, including one between an entire group of Ranger fans and a Devil fan, of all people. He looked like he wanted to get beat up.

Where's the guy who was saying this should be an easy week for the rangers, that said the jets should be an easy win? Come on out and take a bow!

I did. The week isn't over. But yes, for now I am wrong.

To be fair, sorry for being unable to predict such an anomaly: Lundqvist had a .875 sv%. I'm pretty sure Hank himself knows he must and can be better. For this game, I think he is responsible. People are going to be blame Richards once again, but I think he had a better game than the (disappointing) usual. I don't care how many goals we score, we used to be defensively tight.

Since all the negatives have been told and retold, I'll just that I really like Pyatt. If he gets 3 shots and 18/19 solids minute per game I'm going to be overjoyed. For all the 'we miss Dubi/Feds/AA/Prust', I'd rather have Powe/Pyatt/Halpern gel as second string player and developing Kreider/Mashinter/Miller and I'm starting to believe that this will have better long term consequences.

watching the third period I was more entertained watching the Rangers than I've been since probably the Caps game. The road trip was boring as **** to watch

Last half of the third was fun, they looked like they did not know what they were going to do next...catch my drift, that is why it was fun to watch.

Viewed through the prism of missing many key (irreplaceable?) players, I thought tonight was fairly encouraging, PP aside. It's gotten to the point where not only is it inept, it ruins any flow we've developed. I honestly believe, but for the late 3rd penalty, we tie it at 4. As simple as it sounds, maybe we just stick with the lines and defensive pairings regardless of the PP. at least then there'd be continuity.

This is the happiest I've been in a Rangers loss all year. (the 2nd period was garbage) We showed some heart near the end of the game. Hopefully they can channel this for the rest of the season. Callahan played like a true captain.

Get Nash back, get McD back, get MDZ back. Put Boyle back on the bench, forget Bickel.

I have to agree. The Rangers did show a lot more hustle throughout most of the game. Still a lot of passengers on the team, but definitely more skating and urgency than what we saw on the road trip.

Love your optimism, but the reality is that we were picked as favorites for the Cup, and the reality is that even with Nash, McD back ,and maybe if MDZ can play like he did earlier in the season, we're not as good as Boston, Pitt, Chicago and several other teams. We have far too many non-NHLers on the roster, and Miller and Kreider belong in Hartford learning the game (I like both as prospects, but Miller seems unused to the pace of the game even though he shows some good instincts, and Kreider needs to get back to what we saw in the playoffs last year, and he ain't goin' to do it playing with Brandon Mashinter and /or Boyle).

I really think we should begin to look to next year. And I agree we need to buy out Richards in the off season, and maybe trade Gaborik at the deadline for prospects/picks. And trade Bickel, Boyle and a 5th for nobody. It would be an improvement.

I agree with most of this. The prospects belong in Hartford. A cup this year is unrealistic but all we have to do is make the playoffs and see what happens.

Torts benching of Kreider in a one goal for entire period is just stupid.
Hank sucked tonight again every rebound was back into the slot not excuse for that..
Boyle is a wastes not seen since Willie Huber
Gabby and Richard flat out awful all night
Powe is a wrecking ball but he has Roberto Duran hands

The good
Callahan was awesome
Girardi is warrior like no other guy is a star
