Post-Game Talk: Rangers vs Jets - The LOL Edition

I don't think Kreider has been too spectacular, I just wish he was treated the same way Miller is being treated by the coaching staff. I guess you can just chalk it up to Torts using different means to push different players.

Miller has him on the D right now, that's for sure. He's quite good in his own zone for a 19 year old. But aside from the game against the Islanders, Miller has been invisible offensively.

Before being sent to the Whale, in the four games after returning from his injury Kreider was one of the best Rangers on the ice. I think that demotion to the Whale really ****ed with him, and now he's not getting his chances to show what he can do with offensive talent. I get the argument that "if he can only put up points playing with Richards or Stepan than he shouldn't be here" I get that thought process.

But for ****s sake people, not even Nash would put up points with Bickel, Mashinter, or Boyle.

Torts made some adjustments to his game...

I wouldn't bother drafting any player with offensive talent until Tortorella has been replaced.

no you're not allowed to call out lundqvist when he plays like crap, because of how great he's played in other games.

I can't tell if this is sarcasm or not. Please G-d let this be sarcasm. I'm from the school of thought that the guy that's played great for your DESERVES to be called out more than say Bickel. Bickel is in over his head. Lundqvist is obviously capable of better than this garbage. Today he underachieved. I don't completely agree with Machinehead, while Lundqvist hasn't been nearly as good as last year, I don't think he's been bad until today. He had a rough first 3 games, since then he's be mostly consistently good to very good (one hiccup was against NJ). Today was something else.

So easy to see in his post-game that Torts has ZERO confidence in Kreider. When he can be gone, he'll be gone (back to the Whale, not traded)
he acts like JT Miller is perfect. yes Miller does some good things BUT he is also a turnover machine and his defense is not good at all

I'm not saying he is solely (or even mostly) to blame, or that he has even been "bad" by NHL standards, but Hank MUST be better.

He MUST. Or the team is going absolutely nowhere.

Even the best goalies in history in a big playoff series have stolen 1 or 2 games for their team. If the team is going absolutely nowhere based on the goalie than we should resign from the NHL. The team in front of hank is horrid. And that will be the reason for the teams demise.

Trade Boyle for a 4th Rounder (regression from that 3rd but deal with it)

Trade Gaborik get some more depth and a 1st back.

Amnesty Richards.

Demote Bickel.

Step up or get the **** out?

He's a 21 year old first year pro.

There will be good games and some bad games.

Get the **** out?

What about the 6.6 million invisible center with an 'A' on his shirt? Or the 7.5 million invisible 'goal scorer'?

exactly. hes played 11 games, only 8 of which he was healthy for. and he was benched for half the game in a lot of his games played, but people expect him to be fearlessly throwing his weight around and be a difference maker under those circumstances. torts' impatience has rubbed off on some of the fans.

Why is it that Fatso Broduer has basically the same stats as Lundy, yet the devils are teetering between 1st and 2nd in the division. Defense anyone?

How about this team needs to be better. The only time I noticed Beaver was when he fumbled the puck on our last powerplay. Did Gaborik even play? Oh right, instead of shooting on a 2 on 1, he tried to pass it to Beaver.

Are the people talking about the pick joking around or did they forget that we don't have it? Considering how many respected posters are talking about it, I'd assume the former.

Like I said, he's far from the only reason. Last year he stole games and points regularly. He needs to be better.

See my last post.

He pulled a Glen Hanlon or a Doug Soetaert performance tonight. Remember the '80's vividly. Pavelich would deflect the one Ruotsalainen shot that wouldn't be 10 feet wide past the goalie late in the third to tie the game at 4, only to have some third line scrub for some team that would finish 25 games under .500 float one past one of the two aformentioned goalies twelve seconds later.

On that play I just had to laugh. Followed up immediately with a weak pass from behind the net right onto the stick of a Winnepeg D to start a clean breakout the other way. Comical.

of course it's sarcasm... oh brother put down the pipe

i think he's been good so far overall, but when we need him to step up he lets us down... as good as he is, he's been crown the king prematurely... he hasn't won anything yet.... yet....

he's got to play his best, until we get our act together or they're done

Lundqvist hasn't been a brick wall in goal, the Rangers have key injuries, but when healthy, they haven't exactly been world beaters. At this point, you either change the system they're playing or change the coach. The players don't fit this system.

The Winnipeg Jets were the perfect team to play as a re-entry point into solidifying their game.

Not that I count my chickens before they hatch, but I would have thought they would land this one for the full 2 points.

Postscript: the footage of the running around in a panic just before Kane's first goal should be used for a horror flick.
They looked great pushing for the tying goal at the end, balls to the wall, but...aah...who knows.

Horrific!
Boyle is a big lumbering pile of useless.
Richards is invisible.
No continuity
Krider looks like he forgot how to play.
SOFT
Matt Gilroy had more shots on goal than Gabs
Can somebody make a hit!
