Why does everyone want to trade Hayes? To get draft picks back like Lias Andersson, or prospects like Deangelo? Rangers are a better team with him than with a mid level prospect or low 1st round draft pick that doesnt amount to much.

Backhanded stretch passes in your own zone are a great thing

Lias played well in the 1st and create something out of almost nothing, but such mistakes happen guys so early in his career.

The two best pieces in our system were late firsts.

Yep, looking at his age and value going forward, I wouldn’t trade him

That's the argument I make with players like Hayes, Zibs, and even Zuccarello. Unless you're certain you're getting back MORE than what you're losing it doesn't make a whole lot of sense and draft picks are a crap shoot.

(Edit) The goal is to make the team BETTER with every move. At least it should be.

Let him walk for nothing... or gain assets for him? Hmmm... choices, choices.

We're playing the Ducks soon?

I mean, like, one team has to have more shots than the other, right?

How does that work?

Exactly, because they’ll draft a Lias Andersson at 7, while Hayes puts up 60 points for the next four seasons.
