Lias has been strong on the puck all night and has done a good job at kickstarting a transition from the d-zone

lias andersson is a terrible skater. zero burst, zero acceleration. good lord.

he needs YEARS of instruction and squats.

The Rangers: *rebuild for "elite talent"*

Also the Rangers: *draft Derek Stepan's clone 7th overall*

Outstanding assessment after watching him for a few minutes.

I haven't seen his edgework really but you're going to be seriously limited if you take as long as he does to even reach half speed. For reference, Cody McLeod is markedly better.

No need to be defensive about it, he's very clearly a bad skater at this point.

Seems to be in the right 'spots' though.

I feel bad for Lias' parents watching this lol I wish it was at least a close game

Two things:

1. If what you are saying is accurate, it's the fault of those above AV for hiring him and keeping him this long.

2. What Rangers coach has ever been universally praised? Good luck coming up with a name.

Herb Brooks

Caps doing nothing and just letting us skate around.

I'll never understand why coaches stop playing with a lead. I feel like it's not something that actually works, but rather a tradition that nobody bothers to question.

I don't think any coach in any sport has ever been universally praised, outside of Bill Belichick.

That said, not many coaches are loathed by 99% of the fanbase lie AV.

Okay. Which Rangers coach was a really good one?

How about a coach of any team?

The only one you have ever praised here was Sutter, who won twice with the best team.

I really wish Chytil’s first goal could have been assisted by McLeod just for the lolz

chytil does have some nice moves in the o zone. not being a wise ass is Lias considered a good skater?

He makes Stepan look like Brett Hedican.

He is however quick in the corners. He’s the opposite of mcilrath. He pivots well.

Because it’s not the coaches, it’s the players and human nature.

(It’s partially the coaches; but like 10%)

You don't want a team feeling disrespected, because then you're one stupid Orpik charge away from retaliation on a player that matters.

Long season, player energy and focus is a thing, etc.

I don't think its a coaching thing.

It's really, really hard to give a f*** when you're comfortable.

Chytil has had a pretty good period.

Despite them being a pretty good team and me even wanting OV to finally win, I just have no faith in them winning yet again

I'd snapcall Derek Stepan's career for him so fast your head would spin. Slam dunk.

So would I. I'm fine with Andersson.

But if we're rebuilding for this "elite talent" binge like everyone is saying, I'd like to swing for the fences a lot more in 2018.

The Rangers have a long-standing tradition of reaches and safe picks. They also have a long-standing tradition of good but not great forwards. There's causation there.
