Good to get over the .500 mark. Two 6 goal games in a row and Hajek gets the game winner. Alex gave up two he should have had--other than that though for this one it wasn't a problem. A lot better overall effort than the 6-1 game. Kakko and Chytil both looked really good. Laffy a little quiet in this one. Gauthier really nice play to chip the puck up to Chytil on the Rooney goal and then another great play on the Chytil goal.

I tell you what, having 4 games in a row against this team after they sell off at the deadline is going to be some opportunity. I say we go 1 and 3 against a bunch of no names and pretty much waste it completely.

Over NHL .500 is nice. Lots of reason for optimism. Kakko and Chytil both back and looking good. Trouba on the way back. Shesterkin's injury not horrible. If they can get Panarin back it makes you think they could go on a little run.

Imagine if Zibanejad wasn't having a trash season. The team could actually be pretty good.

True, though he provided the screen on Hajek's goal. Didn't show up on the scoreboard but a great positive seeing him play in traffic.

Well... ya can't fire Quinn mid-season now. If they went into a tailspin that's pretty much all she wrote for the 2021 season and you'd just let them play it out. So hopefully this up-tempo style is here to stay and they are back to be the exciting squad from Jan - Mar. 2020.

Nice to see Hughes not have an impact today. Kakko was good. Laf quiet but he played well enough. Buch still playing well, and Strome telling the haters to go sit on it.


I just wish the PP didn't suck, going 1-5 or worse every night will cost us against quality teams.

Going 1 for 5 every game puts you top third of the league. It's the 1 for 7 or 8 nights that kill you. This team should be better man up.
PP% plus pk% greater than 110 equals good special teams. or are those 90's numbers and its more like 115-120 in the analytics era?

+7 GF/GA, 9 ROWs... I think they are close to being pretty good. Close out some of those first few close ones and hell they might be a 13-7-2 squad. But ya know... you are what your record is and you aren't good until you know how to hold late leads night in and night out.
