Anyone else love when we win and the highlights on NHL.com are from the opposition? Love to hear their perspective when we look good, or drink the tears of our rivals’ announcers. When we look like shit I can come up with my own analysis

I would love it if it wasn’t the devils announcer making my ears bleed

I think we can win both even without Panarin....but if Mika can be half decent and pot one it would certainly help. I hope we have the new kid dressed for Bruins game at least since they also signed Tinordi for that role . I still think we are better than the Bruins and for sure better then the Penguins . Some extra unwanted attention towards Bergeron and Pasta will help us .

We are not better than the Bruins. Not yet at least.

Is that new? I often tried watching spoiler-free highlights when I couldn't watch a game, but I stopped trying because they almost always use the feed of the winning team. Good to see them change it.

Package him in a deal for a center...we already have some young wingers who can replace him if we had a great crafty C to feed them pucks plus we save most of our assets . We likely have to lose a couple to go in a trade . We would also not hurt our Cap situation in doing so. I firmly believe we can be a better club without him moving forward . Give his ice time next season to Laf who will need more in year 2 . We might have some pain for next season without Artemi....but after that he is in our rear view mirror .

Unless we get Eichel in return I am not sending Panarin anywhere. He was a hart trophy finalist last year and was leading the team in scoring this year before his LOA. He's a magician with the puck. Just because they have been winning recently doesn't mean they can win consistently without him when they play the better teams. They need him to get back back sooner rather than later if they want to make the playoffs.

The central has 4 teams with 31 points or more. That would put us 8 points out of a playoff spot. Granted, we would have some games in hand but 8 points is a lot to make up at this point. Its still going to be tough to make the playoffs but I would rather be 4 points behind than 8. These next 2 games against Pitt are very important.
Points don’t really work as a comparison when you only play against your division. Besides Tampa don’t see any of those teams doing that well in the east. Even Carolina, who at this point, is still a better team than us wouldn’t be a guaranteed playoff team.

You are also underestimating what Carolina and Florida has done this year. I was happy to see Carolina in another division tbh. They are very good and yes they would make the playoffs in the east.

If Chytil gets a 0.8 point season do we still trade him a package for Eichel. I prefer Zibanejad ( not his corpse) and Chytil than Eichel.

In all 3 other divisions, there is notable gap between 4th(well over ".500", playoff qualifying) and 5th and lower

In NYR's East, there are 5 stronger teams, then NYR near .500 and Sabres/Devs well below.

It will be a hard road for NYR to catch, and pass, at least 2 of those teams.
With a full roster, and the proper discipline and effort, NYR can match with any of those. But its unlikely they rise to at least 4th at season's end.

So if they happen to falter, and get a top 10 pick, instead of 14th/15th, i wont mind.
