Mika ok? Seems like a charley horse or something but naturally, particularly this year, seems like we’re dealing with something new every game.

Kreider doesn't get enough credit for these things. I got shit for it 2-3 years ago, saying Kreider helps Zibs A LOT and he drives the line. He helps his center/linemates get into a groove and he creates a lot of space for them. I actually really like Kreider Strome Kakko. I'd keep them together

Zibs is still really struggling. I'd bump up Chytil with Laf and Buch. If Gauthier can replicate the speed down the wing, he could have the Kreider effect. Zibs needs to be taken off of PP1.

Kreider Strome Kakko
Laffy Chytil Buch
Lemmy Zibs Gauthier
Howden Rooney Blackwell

I’ve been among the loudest critics of Kreider over the years, and still think concerns should be raised as to how he reacts in high emotional situations like rival games boiling over and PO games.

But he is the biggest turn-around-case I’ve ever seen in hockey. When he turned pro he was just a “dumb” — not knowing what to do — offensive player. Now he is just very smart.

Subban has looked a lot better ever since Lindsey Vonn left him. I wonder why. He also stopped making YouTube videos, which probably helps too.
Damn I didn't realize that. So PK has been training with this guy Clance Laylor in Canada basically since before he turned Pro and this guy is like the Prentiss of his area. PK started training with Lindsey and a "celebrity trainer" and doing dumb crap and then he ended up having his two worst seasons in a row. Now he is back with Clance and looks better.

The Panarin LOA seems to be a good thing. It's teaching the team to not rely on him. If he can come back and the team plays a better overall team game, watch out!
Been saying this. Previously, its like well......."we dont have to play well, Panarin and Zbad will win it for us". Hopefully they've learned (and seems they are) that everyone must pull their weight.

Think the east is pretty clearly the toughest. Every other division has crappy teams at the bottom like Buffalo and New Jersey, but what makes the east tougher is there are four really good teams at the top for only four spots. West is the closest with Vegas, St Louis, and Colorado, but that still leaves 1 spot open. Central is just Tampa and Carolina. Canadian is Toronto and maybe Winnipeg. We’d have a pretty good chance in making the playoffs in any other division or in the metro or wild card in a regular year. Could see us passing Pittsburgh and finishing 5th, so it’s a bummer there’s no play in round (nhl really should’ve had a 4-5 playin matchup for each division this year), but don’t see us passing any of the top 4 teams.

Funny the apathy towards voting for Fox for one of three stars. I guess being the most consistent player who comes to play every game will do that. Nothing wrong with that.
I dont think I've voted Fox once. I mean, its graciously obvious he is night in and night out a star of the game. Games where we didnt have a legit e stars, he got one just because.

One of 'em will hit a rut. Need to make hay when that happens.

OMG, Pitt and Philly can easily be had. Oh yeah, and dont look now but, Boston isnt exactly setting the NHL on fire anymore. Maybe theyre feeling the loss of Chara more than they think, and getting older. Schedule might be too substantial. Heck, I think even the Isles are better than most wanna credit them for.

Fox on pace for around 53 points in a normal season, dudes a stud

Over his last 7 games I believe he has 8 pts last I checked. The numbers are starting to come for him. If he’s a 50 to 60 pt dman with how well he actually plays defense unlike the others in the conversation he should get Norris votes and win one at some point. No one in the league is better at both ends IMO outside of a very few like hedman

Just finished watching the game. Someone can correct me if I’m wrong, but these are my thoughts:

I’m so f***ing happy we have Fox.
Also, Fox actually developed some good speed.

That Strome backhand goal is underrated. What a shot.

Kakko and Chytil - wow. Awesome improvements. Chytil especially was FILTH today. He’s getting into above average 2C territory with the potential for a lot more. He’s starting to look more and more like Zibanejad too (the good version of Zibanejad, which showed up today).

Miller looked great today, but his reach saved his ass a few times.

Buchnevich and Lafreniere did not play as well today, but Lafreniere had a moment where he looked like MacKinnon for a second or two. I almost passed out.

Subban has looked a lot better ever since Lindsey Vonn left him. I wonder why. He also stopped making YouTube videos, which probably helps too.

Lmfao at Joe when he was hyping up Quinn. Can it be more obvious that the FO is telling him to say that?

Maltsev is one crafty, skilled, and annoying player, and has become my favorite Devils player.
If you mean quickly becoming a player you would "like to have" on the Rangers, I am there with you.
He's "gonna be a good one and a thorn in the Rangers ass in the years to come. Take that to the bank, as Hughes already has.

The central has 4 teams with 31 points or more. That would put us 8 points out of a playoff spot. Granted, we would have some games in hand but 8 points is a lot to make up at this point. Its still going to be tough to make the playoffs but I would rather be 4 points behind than 8. These next 2 games against Pitt are very important.

And suddenly showing every sign as "the leader" on this team. He should be donning that "C" very soon, me thinks. The time is RIGHT. I believe we need that. Laf will get it when Kreids retires. I always thought, Captains need to be offensive players, to lead the charge.
Edit; unless you are defenseman that is intelligent, offensive capabilities, and all around good player with "say so, because of respectability". Hmmm, sounds pretty "Foxy" to me.

So now comes what may be a season defining week. I, along with most, felt the Rangers were the better team when they played in Pittsburgh earlier this year, however they only got one point in two games. Now they get another shot at the Penguins. Both played today. This is a real chance for those young legs to really shine.

Then it's off to Boston. Right now, the Bruins are the best in the division until someone takes them down. Hopefully the Rangers bring some momentum with them out of Pittsburgh and make it a very successful week.

5-6 points out of 4 games would feel very good right now.
I think we can win both even without Panarin....but if Mika can be half decent and pot one it would certainly help. I hope we have the new kid dressed for Bruins game at least since they also signed Tinordi for that role . I still think we are better than the Bruins and for sure better then the Penguins . Some extra unwanted attention towards Bergeron and Pasta will help us .

We should trade him. I mean, how dare Panarin leave us to fend for ourselves?

What good is cinnamon and raisins, without "the bread" man?
Package him in a deal for a center...we already have some young wingers who can replace him if we had a great crafty C to feed them pucks plus we save most of our assets . We likely have to lose a couple to go in a trade . We would also not hurt our Cap situation in doing so. I firmly believe we can be a better club without him moving forward . Give his ice time next season to Laf who will need more in year 2 . We might have some pain for next season without Artemi....but after that he is in our rear view mirror .
