The way I look at the D at the moment:

1. McDonagh
2. Skjei
3. Shattenkirk
4. Smith
5. DeAngelo
6. Bereglazov
7. Holden
8. Staal
9. Graves
10. Pionk

....which means we should move Holden ASAP/immediately--that we should plan on buying out Staal at the latest next summer.

The charts aren't lines on paper - they're graphical representations of what happens when he's on the ice. How can you take whether he PKs or not as proof that he's not good defensively when the actual results that occur with him on the ice clearly state that he's fine defensively?

Adam Clendening supposedly defends well on these charts.

You think Clendening defends well?

I'm sure it represents some form of logic into thinking he defends well, doesn't mean it should result in 6.65 per year.

Not the time for that. Its one thing to point to the defense, its totally different if you consider the rest of the team. The goalie is rapidly declining, we lost the good goalie, we lost our 1C.

This is a better team? I don't think so. And we added more big contracts. If you are adding more big contracts and not improving for sure, you are doing things wrong.

We have more cap room today than we ended the season with.
We added 2 puck moving dmen.
We added 2 talented 1st round picks.
We bought out Dan.
Klein is retiring.

What do you want from our management? It seems like all you want to do is tank and play for future draft picks which is kind of ironic since we just added a #7OA pick without tanking away a season.

This team is still a work in progress, but I do echo some of the concerns/ideas Trxjw and Inferno are saying.

We still need a center, and I don't think Shattenkirk plays with McDonagh. We have trade pieces if we want to use them, but it could get interesting.

Brooks posturing about a potential Staal buyout in crazy to me but crazier things have happened

Also Brooks is clearly a hack haha

PB who would you have targeted this offseason. And for how much?

We need some bottom six forwards and a back up goalie. Thats it. Would've cleared the big contracts, not added more.

Fans here are so fickle. We lose in the playoffs, they want to change the Sather strategy that Gorton was continuing on. A few months later, they are fine with it, add some more big contracts.

I am consistent on this. Too many "one more season" attempts for this team. Its time to know that our window is closed, and rebuild. The team didn't get the job done, time to go back to the drawing board.

???

He is for sure playing with McDonagh. Where else is he playing

Well he once scored a critical goal against us

I think it would go more like this,

We gave up too much
Too big a contract
Too old
I do not like crybabies
We are not just 1 player away from the cup. Now is the wrong time.

He's the classic HF poster, just let him be.

I'm sure it represents some form of logic into thinking he defends well, doesn't mean it should result in 6.65 per year.

Adam Clendening has played a fraction of the minute Shattenkirk has ever, let alone in any given year.

I think the huge difference in sample size makes the data more reliable in Shattenkirk's case.

And he's not being paid 6.65 for his defense, he's getting the bulk of it because he's a righty who can put up huge points. The fact that he's acceptable defensively too contributes something I'm sure.

The bottom line is whether or not a player has a positive or negative impact on their team.

I am consistent in my stance.

We sucked last season for the expectations, couldn't get past a bad Ottawa team.

I was done with this one more year, lets pile on another big contract ****.

So many here were begging for this team to rebuild after we lost, and then two months later, they are thrilled we piled on two more big contracts.

No, I am sticking pat. I was not happy with how the season ended, the plan wasn't working, we needed to rebuild. I didn't change my opinion like the wind.

Well, people said they wished just once someone gave the Rangers a home town discount.

Well, there you go.

That's about as good of a deal as you can ask for.

Oh, how far we've come form the Chris Drury contract days. Shatty will be an instant fan favorite.

I don't agree that they are for sure better..I think it's arguable...losing stepan raanta and lindberg up front while adding...as of now...just pavelec to replace them I'd a huge colossal step backwards

Read my quote. I said better today than yesterday not than last season. I think we can overcome Stepan and Oscar. I am worried about goalie until we see our new guy play for us.
