Players like him get 2-3mil on the open market. Swiss army knife...put him anywhere and he doesnt hurt you...then again he really doesnt drive the play on the upper lines either.

i like Fasth..I just dont love fasth in the top 6.

If they want to give one of the top 6 guys a demotion in game, Fast is ideal to move into their spot on wing. Does a little bit of everything and has a high motor. Shame his offense never developed to where he'd become an amazing 3rd line player. He showed that in while playing in Sweden. He's an ideal bottom 6 guy in the new NHL. Skates, PKs, forechecks well and can chip in on offense every so often.

Awesome news. Awesome deal. This helps us avoid the Chicago Situation, where role players who are crucial to the team - and I believe Jesper is - get too expensive and leave. And before I get wrecked, not comparing us with Chicago's cup teams, I'm just saying he could probably have gotten a deal close to Lindberg's Vegas deal elsewhere.

Best summer since the Messier trade. Did everything right so far: vastly improved the defense, created cap space for Shatty by acquiring 2 top prospects, reasonable salaries and terms for Shatty and Smith, now a great contract for Quickie. Assuming Mika isn't overpaid, that's a terrific summer. But we need to add more depth, which presumably will happen in August when they go bargain basement hunting.
