I love this signing. Adds some speed size and skill to the bottom lines. Will he play lw or center?? Will he be RFA at seasons end?
LWer for sure. I don't believe he PK's

Just throwing together a lineup. Disregard line numbers. Vigneault is more adept at using his whole bench than Tortorella.
Kreider - Stepan - Nash
Hagelin - Richards - Callahan
Pouliot - Brassard - Zuccarello
Pyatt - Moore - Dorsett
Boyle
HTF: Kristo, Miller, Fast, Lindberg, Hrivik
McDonagh - Girardi
Staal - Moore
Del Zotto - Stralman
Falk, Johnson
HTF: Syvret, McIlrath
Lundqvist
Biron
HTF: Talbot
Someone on the "4th line" needs to sit. Does Boyle, Pyatt, or Dorsett sit? Going to have to be a rotation. Finally solid looking depth on the bottom six. Finally.
Good young players ready for a call up when the time comes. Are Callahan and Hagelin going to be ready?
Looks good. Good job by Sather, Gorton, and co. Now go get the RFAs signed.

I don't understand how some of you define "physical"
In what planet is a 6'3 210+ pound player with 90+ hits a season "soft"?

Like I said, when he is on his game he is playing physical. But that isn't anywhere near all the time.
Pyatt definitely would sit. And MZA belongs in the top 6 not the bottom 6. Switch him and Cally. Also Moore is a LD.
How do you manage to get 90+ hits in a season if he rarely is hitting?
Does he have 20 hits in a game then go home and cry for the next 20?
Some of you have some odd definitions of things
My lineup if I was AV-
Hagelin Stepan Nash
Kreider Richards MZA
Pouliot Brassard Callahan
Boyle Moore Dorsett
Pyatt
McDonagh Girardi
Staal DelZotto
Moore Stralman
Falk
Hell of a 3rd line if you ask me. Adding Moore was great, gives us speed and a good PKer plus good faceoff taker.
Have you seen him play? If not, then why argue with me, who has?
Explain how someone gets 90+ hits in a season if they rarely hit
Stats, especially hits, mean next to nothing. 90 hits is 1 per game. How many does Pyatt average?
Whe he is on, he hits and uses his size. Whe he is not, he is not physical and is close to invisible. That's just the way he is.
I'm sorry if by looking at stats you feel he is better than he is?
I just have an issue with calling everyone and anyone soft. He's a bigger guy who hits plenty. Not a fighter.
Does that make him soft? What is the standard here? Is everyone compared to Lucic?
Pouliot will fight. I wouldn't call him soft, per se, but he isn't someone who really intimidates. I think he helps a bit, but not much. He is a faster Pyatt. And that's not a knock no him. I like the signing.
Full lineup:
Pouliot-Stepan-Nash
Richards-Brassard-Zuccarello
Hagelin-Boyle-Callahan
Pyatt-Moore-Dorsett
For reference in regards to offensive ability:
Last 3 years average for Pouliot are 16-19-35 and ~12mins/game (sh% range from 10-15)
Last 3 years average for Clarkson are 22-12-34 and ~15.5 mins/game (sh% range from 6-13)
So they are comparable offensively - Pouliots production is actually better. So I guess Clarksons defense/hitting/PK'ing are worth 4M+ more then?
Toronto probably is expecting more than 35 pts from Clarkson but tbh expecting more than that is pretty unreasonable. That's what he is. I suppose play him with Kessel and sure he'll get more points but thats just based on playing more with more skilled guys rather than skill (as in anyone can play there and improve their numbers)
