Just got this feeling we half assed it.

How is this "half assed"? I don't follow.

Gorton got the guy he's wanted all along and alot of us Ranger fans like me wanted as well to help give a shot in the arm to this rebuild. And yes the rebuild still continues as we have a ton of draft capital coming up.

Seems to me like we got a great player at a dollar amount and term that was not irresponsible at all and I'll bet it comes out Lou likely offered in the 12's for him.

After what you've seen from Gorton you don't think he see's that we have some depth issues at center behind Zibs? Why would anyone in here doubt that he'll eventually address that via trade if necessary.

I dunno call me nuts but I don't see how any Ranger fan even the Debbiest Downer fan there is, can't be excited about this coup de grat which is Panarin coming to MSG, for this incredible phenomenal off season we've had.

Thank God, I don't think I could of handled another loss to a lesser New York team like KD to Brooklyn. I love the signing he's not just a lazy Russian scorer he's got heart and you see the fire when he was in the playoffs. Love what we've done all year

Elite winters can elevate their surroundings. There’s no way in heck that Radek Bonk averages 60 points in two seasons without Marian Hossa next to him, or that Viktor Kozlov becomes a 70 point player without Pavel Bure next to him. Those might be only a few examples, but they’re examples I know well.
The Hawks won a Cup with 55 year old Michal Handzus as their 2C. He played with Kane who even though is a winger, he drives the bus for whatever line he's on. Panarin is similar to that.

Plus in this day and age, positions are becoming more and more fluid. An elite winger who likes to carry the puck, which Panarin is and does, will be the driver on his line. Honestly, put Chytil at 2C and glue Panarin to him. Panarin will pick up the slack that Chytil's inexperience needs and will also help Chytil grow.

IMO this means they are banking on chytil being a center not a winger...

Good one! Thanks for the support :)

Yea, sure. Tell yourself that.

Too funny, I just went over to their board as I wanted to read their reactions and 90% of them are pissed off cause now the Rangers are alot better, are a major threat to them, they are now a playoff contender and now Taylor Hall is going to be making 12..12.5 mill per. So Benedict Arnold was like you assumed...BS'ing us...lol

The rebuild is pretty much over. Giving a soon to be 28 year old that much money brings a pressure to win ASAP.

It’s impossible to know for sure what is best in the long run, but I liked the prospects of staying away from Panarin more than the prospects in this scenario.

Damn Rangers. Great job. NYC is really the place where many would like to play. This is a decent AAV imo. Far better than Bobby Holik etc contracts back in the day. Hopefully Kakko sees some ice time with Panarin. I think that would be magic.
