Funny that the TSN dais is discussing the cap system and how they would all love a system that allowed teams to keep their big name players by granting each team a single player cap exemption.

Keep the conversation going into the next CBA please... then all of this Panarin stuff wouldnt matter. Probably would use it on Kakko at that point but it would certainly help the big market teams like the Rangers.
Personally I think they should be encouraging player movement, not discouraging it.

Well damn, that's one big contract.
Even with cap inflation I'm not sure Panarin is worth $1m more than Kane, or a mil or so less than McDavid. Damn good player...
I also get the feeling that his first few seasons will be 'wasted' here as the rookies learn their craft, but at least he'll be entertaining to watch!

Crazy coincidence. Are you my best friend now too? Ala, "thirty one"? Now......I HAVE TO go and play that CD, and reminisce on some good times.
Yes. haha. And this off-season has you wishing for endless summer nights.

Most teams that win the cup, do it on the back of two star players. Crosby/Malkin. Kane/Towes. Johnson/Kopitar. Ovechkin/Backstrom.

With Kakko and Panarin, we might have that duo now. we've had our brushes with star players (Jagr, Gaborik, Nash) but never two at the same time.
