True but
I'd imagine MSG would want all the coverage they can get their hands on from that night.
True. I was thinking they may want a late start so the ceremony didn't have to begin too early. I don't remember the start time of past banner games.

what if its a game no here is expecting, maybe 4/1 vs isles, 2/1 vs florida, 4/19 jets, 4/12 car

it could be any game….we’re all speculating. However, 2/1 vs Florida is an ESPN game so if the 3/2 and 2/24 dates are eliminated because of that so should the Panthers . The rest you cited are in April and I honestly don’t think they’ll wait that late. They’ll, HOPEFULLY, be in the middle of a playoff push and having an event like that seems like a distraction the organization doesn’t need. You mention the Isles and I just don’t think against most rivals they would have it those nights. You would have a number of opposing fans plus you would give the opponent more motivation to beat the Blueshirts on their marquee night. Similarly you wouldn’t hold it against the Kings or Tampa Bay to remind everyone of Henrik’s biggest losses. So I will stick with the Wild or the Ducks….but it’s just a guess and you are absolutely right it could be any night

Any one having issues with stubhub buyers? I sold 2 preseason games a couple weeks back and the buyers still haven't accepted the tickets per my rangers account. For the 26th game I had to call stubuhb and wait on hold for 2 hours so they can email me a link to upload proof that I transferred them. I still need to call for the 28th game as well. This is beyond a hassle and I'm glad I only tested this out with 2 crap games. Will not be using SH for the rest of the year. Even worse that you need to wait for game to play before being paid.

Ive had buyers not accept at all in the past. I just retained the transfer email and made sure I had any documentation I needed in case there was an issue down the line. The not being paid until after the game issue isn’t exclusive to StubHub though, it’s also the case for Vivid and Ticket Exchange now. You won’t be getting money ahead of time unless you sell to people directly.

Ok maybe I won't bother calling about the second preseason game then. Just keep my emails.

For the first time in many years that I've been posting on Ticketmaster and StubHub in parallel I got burned.

In addition to posting here, Facebook, sending to friends, etc., I also post on Ticketmaster.
If it's getting close to gameday and my tickets still haven't sold I'll usually throw them on StubHub.
Since Ticketmaster/NYR have their minimum ticket price I go to StubHub to try and move them for cheaper.

I've never had it happen before but there was bound to be a first time and last night was it.

Got an email that all 4 of my Islander tickets for Sunday on Ticketmaster.
Immediately went to StubHub and deactivated my listing.

About 15 minutes later I get a notifications from StubHub that my Islanders tickets sold there.
I was thinking "How the heck did that happen?"

After checking a few times I saw that the sale was made 15 minutes before I deactivated my tickets.
So now I'm wondering why they let me deactivate the listing if they sold.
I tried to call they said they were having up to 3 hour wait times! I hung up.

After racking my brains for awhile and rechecking everything, I realized only seats 1-2 sold on StubHub. When I deactivated the listing I realized it only deactivated seats 3 and 4.

So for the first time I got burned by posting on Tickemaster and StubHub at the same time.
Never thought tickets would sell that close together and never have in the past.

I updated the sale on StubHub to indicate I no longer had the tickets and now just waiting to see what they're going to charge me. Looks like it will likely be the cost of the tickets.

At least only 2 sold on StubHub so it won't be a total loss. It will probably never happen again but will be cautious in double posting in the future. I'm glad it was only for a preseason game I was selling for way under face value.

So be careful if you're double posting like I often do.

Yeah I knew it could happen just never had it happen so got too comfortable. It is what it is.

Do you recall if they charged you the price of the tickets or more?

Their policy states: "If you dropped your sale, StubHub will charge your payment method an amount equal to the greater of (i) 100% of the price of the ticket(s) sold or (ii) the full amount incurred by StubHub to remedy the dropped sale."

I'm not sure if it was stubhub or vivid (I sell through Vivid/stubhub using skybox). I don't remember the specifics. On a couple of occasions where I didn't have the tickets or made a listing error (through some screwup of mine) I either got replacement tickets (after confirming they would be accepted) or they go out and get the tickets and charge you whatever (they have no duty to get the cheapest acceptable tickets). You may be better off finding similar seaats to yours (cheap) and asking if you can use them as replacements. At least that puts a ceiling on what you'll pay. Only buy them once they confirm you can use those as replacements. Keep in mind the difference between when you're expected to fulfill and when your order will be fulfilled.

That's a great suggestion. I didn't think of that option.
Problem is I have no way to offer the replacements anymore. Now that I marked them unavailable I can't do anything else. I'm not waiting on hold for 3 hours to speak to someone either.

Good to know if this ever happens again, which I'm going to avoid as much as possible :)

I did this in Vegas once. I was lucky enough to find the same seats in the row behind mine & sent them to the buyer. They never said a word, so I guess they didn't mind too much.

On another note ... not knowing the date of Lundqvist night is killing me.
I have people asking about games but I've been holding off as long as I can until we have a date.

I could take a chance and sell some games and then buy them for Hank night if I ended up selling that game.
I know it will cost me a lot more though.

No option for that, only phone call. And even with that they are prioritizing calls for events in the next 24 hours.

We're experiencing longer than usual wait times while we get our contact center back to full staffing.
Due to these wait times we're prioritizing customers with events happening within the next 24 hours. If your event is happening outside of this time frame, visit My Tickets for your order details or check out these popular Help Center topics.

Same, been holding off listing on any site at this point. I needed 3 for the opener and got those today, so my opener game is now available, but everything else is being held up because they haven't made the announcement yet. Looking at the schedule, I'm thinking the earliest date might be December 8 vs Colorado. January 24th vs the Kings is another date I can see it happening. Weekday games against not ideal opponents. You're not going to see it happen Rangers vs Isles, Devils, or any other divisional opponent. I'm hoping it is before the Olympic break, otherwise we're looking at March.

The other thing is, as soon as it is announced, that game is selling out. Anyone in need of extra tickets better be ready to get them otherwise as you mentioned, it'll cost you an arm and a leg

I fear taking a guess.

For what it's worth, and I know they wouldn't have the same draw as Henrik night will, but the last two jersey retirement nights were on Sundays.

Jean Ratelle was Sunday 2/25/18 vs Detroit
Vic Hatfield was Sunday 12/2/18 vs Winnipeg

I'm wondering if they pick Sundays so it's easier for guests to travel into town as opposed to during the week. Also they are usually some festivities (Dinners, etc.) that happen on Saturday if I recall.

But one thing that blows that theory out of the water is the 25th 1994 Anniversary night was on a Friday (2/18/19) vs Carolina. There were a lot more guests for that then the retirement nights.

We just have to wait and see. Just tired of waiting!

Ok you talked me into it. I called and only waited about 10 minutes.

They have notified the buyer and looking for replacement tickets. I was tempted to email them myself but thought better of it. Was concerned that with the long reported wait times they weren't getting in touch with the buyer.
So what I did was correct, just mark them as no longer available.

The person I spoke with said I would be charged the amount I had the tickets listed for which was $37 each.
Not a total loss as I sold 4 on Ticketmaster for more than that. Again just happy it was for a preseason game I was selling for well below face value.

Thanks everyone !

I got a ticket broker POS system that I use. It list all my tickets to 7 different websites. The POS system communicates with all of them so as soon as they sell it automatically pulls them down from the other sites.

That sounds interesting. Might look into something like that.
