Rangers Season Tickets Holders

Had a few questions,
1) First is it me or does it seem that MSG is as full as ever even though most games are not sold out as in year's past?
2) Has the type of crowd at games changed this season? To me, it seems more young, more casual, and that a lot of the older folks, and suits, are gone.
3) How have Knick crowds been in terms of attendance/demographics this year, have they had the same trend as the Rangers?

I thought it was interesting for both the Henrik night and the Kraken game, they announced and put on the jumbotron that it was a sellout crowd of 18,006. First time I've seen that since COVID started.

Any word on when renewals may go out? Looking at past emails, it seems like it's usually been the first or second week of February the past few years but this season does run later than usual.

Got $850 for 2 tixs Hank....that game brought me to even ytd. 6k 2 seats.
This may be somewhat close to an answer I'm looking for... but how much 2 two season tix in the 200's go for? Next year I want to look into getting a couple, either for the season or a package of games if they offer it.

Any insight from anyone would be appreciated :thumbu:

I'm sure others will help answer as well.

It all depends on the section and row you are in. Higher row and further from center ice less expensive, Lower rows, closer to center ice more expensive.

As new business and based on my experience, I think average price for 2 full season tickets in the 200 level is around $9,000-10,000.

I'm expecting an increase in ticket prices for next season.
Anyone else have thoughts?

I agree. MSG is going to take advantage of playoff appearnace with price hike especially with the Knicks floundering again. My seats are currently $105 per game ($4,620 for the season) and that is bottom of face of circle in 200s row 9. I expect they'll increase to 110-115 next season (I'm likely dropping from 4 to 2 seats).

We used to have great charts (I think made by GordonGecko) that showed the FV for every category (eg, 200s center lower rows, 200s goal higher rows, etc) where you could just look up the price for every season ticket. But MSG started making so many price points, that I think the charts became untenable. The biggest being "new" STH vs "old" STH-- I'm not sure when the cutoff is. There used to be different prices per ticket for full, half, and quarter season, but unsure if that's still the case.

Anyway, long way of saying that it really depends on section, row, maybe even seats (I see on TM that aisle seats cost more for single games), and tenure. Plus playoff price hike is definitely coming- they haven't raised in several years. I could see invoices come out whenever a playoff spot is clinched.

I'm just hoping we don't get walloped with the type of increases the last few times they raised prices. My seats went from $62 to $74 to $89 in the span of 2 renewals. Almost 20% increases each time. I could live with a few bucks and even expect it but that type of increase was a joke.

A playoff spot won't be officially clinched until April and renewals were early to mid February in past so I'd guess we'll see them in the coming weeks. But everything else you guys have said is correct in regards to pricing. I think they may have had $89 season tickets for new plan holders when I saw the chart (ex. 227 higher rows which are in the $60's for tenured season ticket holders) but everything else was $99 and up and marked up compared to tenured plan holders. 100's seats were not marked up though. Regardless you're looking at probably upwards of $9K to $10K at the minimum when factoring in price increase for a pair of full season seats unless they change their policies on charging new business higher.

Preesh the feedback. @sbjnyc it sounds like you are roughly where I usually prefer to sit anyways. Those aren't horrible for what I almost figured, but perhaps I'd do a block if they make that available. Who knows, I mostly like to just try and be prepared with some base knowledge.

I'll be in Igor's end at the Devils game next Saturday but in a corner. Row 8 or 9 I believe. Usually I try to stay in the 200's and around Row 5 or closer. Sat in the first row of 214 with the tvs of 214 the night of the NFL Divisional round Saturday games. Was actually a ton of fun.

Had a call from my rep yesterday- just a check in call. He mentioned that the renewals will be going out in a few weeks.

As per the mayor, vax mandate ends March 7th as long as there's no Covid spike between now and then. I'd imagine MSG follows suit and removes their mandate since they've just been in line with the city the entire time.

Did this happen today? Curiously following this.
Yes - I personally don't expect anything to change for MSG until the end of the regular season. Last season the Knicks were going to have a vax mandate for a 2nd round playoff berore it was required by NYC. I'm usually wrong about these things though.

That being said, I'm keeping the vaccine requirement in any listings of games I sell online even if theydo rescind it.

Looks like all mask and vaccine requirements for the building are gone as of today.

There hasn't been a mask requirement in the building. Where does it say the vax requirement is gone? The event pages for the games still include a vax requirement.

There's been a mask "requirement" for anyone who wasn't eligible to be vaccinated (kids under 12 for a while then kids under 5 once those guidelines from the city changed) but that's completely gone.

Are there COVID-19 vaccination or mask requirements for guests to attend an event at The Garden?
*Effective March 7, 2022*
City of New York guidelines no longer require guests to provide proof of COVID-19 vaccination or wear a mask in order to attend events at indoor entertainment venues such as The Garden.
Please note that certain events have their own COVID-19 requirements. In addition, government mandates, venue protocols and event requirements are subject to change. So it is important for you to continue to check your event page on our website to confirm the details of your specific event. View calendar.

The event pages haven't been updated in regards to Covid since January so I'd imagine they just haven't gotten around to it yet. There's no reason why it'd be lifted for the arena but not the teams specific games. The language regarding events is probably more in reference to concerts or performances where the performer specifically wants it to be a vax and/or mask only event.

Right, gotcha.

OK I mean it doesn't explicitly say the vax requirement is gone, just that they aren't required to have one and that the requirements vary from event to event. Broadway shows are still keeping the vax manadate. Without the city vax requirement any vax requirement is specific to the event so the rangers can have a vax requirement while the Knicks do not. You could be right but I haven't seen the Rangers announce the end to any vax requirements at MSG.

All that and I don't think that Kyrie Irving can play in Brooklyn yet.

Barclays just sent an email saying they won't be checking vax status anymore unless an artist/promoter wants it for their event.

The wording is incredibly weird I agree but it wouldn't make sense for them to say the vax requirement has been lifted for indoor venues like MSG without saying it's still in effect there. They also wiped all information regarding vaccination requirements and Covid protocols from the FAQ page.

Regardless, I'm leaving the vax info when I post my tickets as well because who knows when/if it may change in the future. Better to cover my ass just in case.

I’m going to the ducks game next week so we’ll know for sure by then.

For what it's worth, I contacted MSG Guest Relations earlier today and I specifically asked them about Rangers games being that their event and FAQ pages had different information regarding the requirements. They sent me the same information that is currently listed on the FAQ page (about it not being required at indoor venues like MSG) and mentioned that the event pages should be updated throughout the week. So it definitely sounds like they just haven't gotten around to mass updating everything yet.

I called them yesterday, as well. Lady was nice. She was told me you do not need any vaccine or mask to enter for NYR or NYK games. She said the Ticketmaster message saying it's required is being worked on with MSG to change it.
