I emailed the Membership Service Team to see if I can get a refund on the postponed games. No reply so. Has anyone here asked their "Rep"?

Not related to NYR STH specifically but anyone else not getting email notifications from this site? It works for awhile then stops. It seems if I turn off email notifications and turn them back on it works for awhile. I keep missing posts since I was depending on the emails to tell me to come checkout new posts.

Glad it's not just me but yes it is annoying.

Actually you can't just disable/enable the email notifications that doesn't seem to work. What I need to do is "unwatch" the threads then "watch" the thread and select "with email notifications".

I know nothing about the Buffalo Chronicle but a quick Google search indicates that the site is a bunch of nonsense. Not to mention, everything in the article is completely out of left field with no previous sources indicating any of that. It’s going to cost $800 million to acquire the land and build a new arena? It cost a billion to redo the current one 10 years ago lol.

This article came out after indicating it was fake news.

Pretty crappy to take one of the most expensive games of the year and move it from a Sunday afternoon in April to a Tuesday night in Feb, especially when it didn't need to be moved due to its postponement.

On top of that and I know I posted this before, but they're doing it again. They're posting their tickets below our STH price.

I have 2 pair of tickets for that games. My pairs are at different price points because of when I got them.
2 are at $202 each and 2 are at $167 each.

They have the 2 aisle seats, which should be higher due to the aisle, posted at $173.
Non aisle seats right in front of me are listed at $168.

With fees I have to drop my price significantly to match or beat their prices.
I get the game was moved from Saturday afternoon to Tuesday night in Feb and expected to take a hit on these.
I posted them at a Tier 4 instead or Tier 5 price for that reason.
Them posting their tickets at or below our cost is frustrating.

I'm never looking to make a killing on my sales, just hoping to break even or close to it.

I'm at the point where I think this might the last year for me. It's been a good run since 2005.

Does anyone know how regularly the Blue Seats come available as a season ticket? Honestly, I like the vantage point and the crowd seems "vintage." If I ever want lowers, I can just get them through my company, but on a more regular basis I really enjoy sitting with the true fans, and I like them best up there. My seats in 227 are fine, but, I think long-term I would rather be there.

Thoughts?

Dear Seller,

Congratulations your tickets have sold! Before we can pay you, we will need to collect your taxpayer information in accordance with applicable laws. We are also generally required to file a Form 1099-K report with the IRS if the gross amount of your sales on our marketplaces is $600 or more in a calendar year. Many states may also require that we report when you have made at least $600 in transactions on our marketplaces, although some states may require reporting based on different thresholds. When required, we will provide you a copy of any such reports.

Please login to our secure Seller Tax Details page and submit your taxpayer information -- Name, Address, Phone Number, and Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN). Ticketmaster will submit your information to the IRS for verification. To avoid delays in processing, please ensure that your legal name matches the name that you use for tax purposes, and that all fields are entered accurately. Ticketmaster will never ask you to provide this information over the phone or via an email. Once verified, Ticketmaster will be able to send you payment for sales that you have on our marketplaces.

For more information, please refer to our FAQ page 1099-K Form: Answer to Some Common Questions.

For more information about the Form-1099-K, please refer to Understanding Your Form 1099-K | Internal Revenue Service

*If you are not a U.S. citizen or resident, you may not be subject to Form 1099-K requirements. However, the IRS requires that Ticketmaster ask you for certain information to verify your non-US status. For more information, please refer to our FAQ page 1099-K Form: Answer to Some Common Questions.

Based on the past few seasons, they don't become available. Given how cheap they are and how limited they are, it seems like when someone gives up their seats or moves MSG just takes them and divides them up into smaller plans or sells them individually. I can't recall them being sold to new customers in full seasons or being offered during relocation in a while.

New law as of 2022. Used to be 200 transactions or $20k in sales if I remember correctly. Now it's anything >$600. Goes for Paypal, Ebay, etc. etc.

How do taxes work with ticket sales? Does the IRS want to know your profit on each game or can you say you spent $10,000 on season tickets and collected $7,000 in sales?

I haven't spoken to my accountant yet regarding this but I'm going to assume it's your net profit/loss on whatever you've sold. You won't be able to claim you spent $10K on season tickets for reporting purposes when you used $2K worth to go to the games. Your expense at that point would be the $8K of what you sold.

Thanks. I guess it makes sense to look at the total profit/loss on all games you sell. Let us know when you learn more.

I was speaking to someone on Friday who has had tickets for over 50 years, and when I asked her where she sat, she said 417. So I would imagine they don't come up very often.

I had seasons in 416 Row F back in college in the early 90s. Pretty much the worst seats in the house. I think face value was $14. For the '92 playoffs the first two rounds were around $18 & $20.

Each ticket has a face value, when all games are combined it equals the exact amount you paid for your seasons. Since it's dynamic(according to the Rangers), that face value would equal your cost basis for each sale. Each sale would have it's own profit and loss, but the total profit/loss on the season would be what you pay taxes on. I dont know about you guys, but I am not going to have to report anything because a majority of the time, I am taking a loss :(

Had a few questions,
1) First is it me or does it seem that MSG is as full as ever even though most games are not sold out as in year's past?
2) Has the type of crowd at games changed this season? To me, it seems more young, more casual, and that a lot of the older folks, and suits, are gone.
3) How have Knick crowds been in terms of attendance/demographics this year, have they had the same trend as the Rangers?

MSG has definitely had a better atmosphere this year compared to the last number of years. The teams play is the first factor at hand, especially at home has everyone into the games. The second thing is corporate entertaining is down so theres more "real" fans at the games this year compared to years past where a good portion of the crowd were suits there just for a night out. I haven't had any trouble finding friends to go with me or on nights i have extras I have no issue selling them. The vaccine mandate really hasn't impacted anything on that end of the perspective. I feel like everyone who wants to go to the games either got the jab or they went out and made a fake card. I don't go to Knicks games so i cant speak to that side of things but early on in the season the crowds seemed into it on TV.
