to tell you the truth I have no idea, no one at MSG even cares to talk to me about it...I just know I am gonna let the deadline pass, If they reach out to me with some offer I may consider it, if no one contacts me then I guess my playoff seats will be sold to the next idiot in line....I have never in my life seen such greediness and disrespect from MSG, really appalling after all these years I had ST with them.

Same here. I didn't renew and am in the same boat. If I lose the playoff tickets so be it. I spoke to my reps manager and lost my mind and said it was despicable after my family's 13 years as ticket holders.

He said the only way he could do something for me was if I paid some sort of money for next year, even if it was a "mini-plan." I told him absolutely not. I am not paying anything for next year and have no interest in next year unless a miracle occurs.

What kind of miracle are you referring to? Them winning it all, or prices related?

Hey guys,

Long time Rangers fan from London, Ontario (2 hours from Toronto), and looking to catch a Rangers playoff game this year. I've been trying to get down to a game, but I can never find anyone to go with, as it's really pricey and hard for someone to justify, not being a Rangers fan.

What is the best way to attain tickets? Stub Hub? Cheapest I've seen is like $250 so far, does that sound about right?

Any input would be greatly appreciated, as it's always been a dream to see the Rangers play at home some day....would really love to make this happen.

Thanks guys!

For the play-offs, stubhub or ticket exchange is the only way to go. Too easy to get burned on craigs list or buying outside. Note: I am not familiar with other resale services like Vivid. Not bashing it, just do not know anything about it.

Stub hub. I bought every single ticket for every single game I went to (most home, number on the road) on their 13-14 cup run via stubhub. Only had one issue where a guy mislabeled a game 1 ticket as game 2 and stubhub replaced right away.

You might also see a last minute post on the ticket resale thread at face value. You never know.

I renewed my half ST for the NYR but I am playing it year by year right now. I went back and forth many times but decided to renew in hopes I am offered a full season at a reasonable price (if there are any seats left that are reasonable).

I also renewed my Knicks, no price increase for this coming season. When the Knicks make the playoffs one of these years, I am sure they will play catch up!

deadline passed for me without renewing...I am buying a boat this summer and don't need this garbage from MSG...after 16 years as a ST I'm done

Currently Rangers will face the Habs in the 1st round. I'm hoping to go to games 3 and 4 depending on the dates of the games. Anyone know what the likely dates will be?

Well, season ends April 9th. Usually 10th and 11th are off days and play-offs start Wednesday the 12th. I would have to assume CBC will want the Habs playing Saturday night. So, likely to be Thursday-Saturday in Montreal followed by Monday-Wednesday or even Monday-Thursday in NY. But, that is all speculation. Note: I have not looked at the schedule for MSG or Bell Centre to see if there are conflicts that can't be rescheduled.

And lastly, my main point here is, when the team starts doing poorly (which will eventually happen) and ticket subscribers start dropping, those people like us who sat through crap years and have now been neglected will not be necessarily crawling back. While it's important to capitalize on a great run, as the team has had over the past decade, alienating your base who pays you through thick and thin, is, in my opinion, not the best business move. Personally, it's a risk, I believe, in the long run will not pay off. Hockey is still the 4th sport here and there's a lot of teams to compete with. Once the team falls back out of the playoffs for a year or two, the fans that flock now for the best NY based team will not be so eager.

Last season I made stupid money on tickets. This year that is not the case. I just don't see the market staying this strong when it is already tiring out and the team is still good. When this team inevitably hits a bad spell, missing the playoffs for 2-3 years in a row, the market will not be strong at all. And with prices where they are now for STH, I can see a lot of people dropping.

Regardless, the fact that I have this strong argument (whether I'm right or not) even more so alludes to the fact that the team should be treating their existing STH with a better attitude and more so as clients then as cash cows. You see many questioning their tickets on here and we are the die hards of the die hards. How many people are questioning? How can blue collar workers afford these anymore? Many can barely afford one game.

Again, the Rangers are treating their fans as if this market will continuously go up. As we saw with the Yankees, this will not just continue forever. And if the Rangers continue to raise prices, it will eventually crash down on them. The last two seasons price raises have been obscene.

Disagree on an "eventual demise". Yes, they had the stretch of 7 years out of the play-offs. Other then that, last time they missed the play-offs in back to back years was 75-76 and 76-77. Before that, you have to go back to the mid-60s. So, in the past 50 years, only twice did they have seasons with the missed the play-offs in consecutive years and only one time was it 3 or more consecutive years.

What do you consider "blue collar workers"? Someone who works with their hands? Someone who makes less than $250K per year? In fairness to the Garden, it is not their job to make sure people of all income levels can afford their tickets. Do people complain to Mercedes or BMW that "blue-collar" workers can't afford their cars. Yes, I understand there are other options for cars, but there are also other options for entertainment. If you can't afford Mets or Yankees tickets, you can go see the Cyclones or SI Yankes. If you can't afford Jets or Giants, you can go watch Columbia, Fordham, Rutgers, Wagner, Army, Stony Brook. If you can't afford Knicks and Nets, you can go see the Westchester Knicks. If you can't afford the Rangers, you can go watch Rutgers, Princeton, Army. You can go to Trenton, or up to Connecticut to see minor league hockey.

So after my ticket fiasco which took over a year to resolve, they made good on everything even got some free games last season including one suite game because of their mishap. I would never get full season tickets again, not because of the money but got stuck a lot with the tickets and not all of them were easy to sell and took a loss on some of them.

Anyway, Does anybody know if they offer some kind of 10 game package, and also does anyone know what the season holder face value is for Bar stool tickets in the corner sections? Was just curious. Sat at the Bar stools for the Tampa game, loved it. But they are very pricey on the re-sale market.

Depends where. They have a few different spots for barstools. I'm in the barstools in 223, the last row up top. There are more on the bridges, the west end balcony, and some in the 100-level.

Sec 219 is where I sat. I like them, can throw your coat on the chair, have a ledge to eat and put your drink and can see everything, no one walking in front of you while play is going.
