Let's get ready for upgrades! LOL. The question is.... do they make available all the seats that weren't renewed??

Believe my rep told me upgrades would be done in may this year very curious too see how many seats avaialble
what's everyone's strategy for the reloc?
1. go for the least expensive seats
2. go for the "best value" seats (i.e., price breaks); risk is MSG can change that like they did for the upcoming season so "value" can become overpriced
3. go for the seats they like regardless of "value" or re-sale risks
4. stay where they are because it's "damn if you do and damn if you don't"
More celebrity welcomes! I love them see c list stars with free tix!

I hope not as I'll be in Asia.
BTW seems the WC will be hosted by the rangers? Thought MSG couldn't host games outside the garden without tax consequences?
There was some event happening at the Theater. I took the escalators down in tower B (8th Ave and 31st) and exited on 8th Ave. The side doors to the stage of the Theater were open and it looked something had happened earlier in the day. I saw confetti on the floor. They also had that 8th Ave exit split for MSG and Theater only exit. The Theater only part exited to a structure that looked like had held an awning. Some stage hands were breaking it apart. Not sure what event happened at the Theater though.I had some errands to fun before the game yesterday and noticed something. Was winding if anyone here can tell me if this happens at every game. There were probably about 50 people waiting for autographs around 5:00 PM at the 31st Street entrance wth a brown awning and apparently, that's where they celebrities enter the arena. Does this happen for the regular season as well?

Now if you're talking about the VIP entrance with the awning for 4 Penn Plaza on 31st between 8th Ave and the Amtrak/old Penn Station taxi stand, not sure. Though I did see F. Murray Abraham (from Amadeus fame) enter through there. I was walking to the Chase Entrance and I crossed paths with him. He was decked out in Rangers gear, jersey, scarf and baseball cap.
I read somewhere that the rangers would be hosting but can't find that article now. Bettman said NYC is the host but not sure that means anything. Wouldn't surprise me if the NHL is working with the government to get an agreement on the tax issue to allow the rangers to host.
BTW the NHL announces that the rangers are playing in the WC during the ranger game and it doesn't get announced at MSG? Did they flash it on the scoreboard and I missed it?

I currently have 2 1st row gallery and 2 in 2nd row gallery.
The 2nd row pair is directly behind the 1st row.
In an ideal world I would like to drop the 1st row gallery and get 4 2nd row gallery.
The person next to me in the 2nd row dropped their seats but my rep said I couldn't automatically get them. I would have to go through the upgrade process when it's my turn. The rep also couldn't tell me whether the seats next to me would even be made available for full seasons. This is what you get for being a 37 year season ticket holder ( NOTHING )
For me, it's a combo of 1 and 2. I'm on the price break row (15) for the upper center. Never thought I'd consider moving my seats but $27 in raises over two seasons forces you to. At $89, it's just an absurd price for my seats. End of day I go to about 15 or so games in my seats and I think whatever I sell will still help cover my entire preseason plus mitigate some of my cost on what I attend but it'll be nowhere near what it used to be. I'm looking to get row 1 or 2 400s or something in rows 15-17 in the 200s corners and goals. Ideally I get the 400's at that $60.50 price point. It's probably tough but we do have about 35 years of tenure currently so we should get one of the first cracks. Worst case, I stay where I am. I'm just concerned going forward how much more these will increase. Based on the past two years it wouldn't shock me to see them hit $100 for 18-19 which is beyond belief.
I'm in row 1 of the 400's. Everybody I know around me in rows 1 & 2 is renewing. I can't imagine anybody not renewing as these are the best values in the building. Even for a bad game I can list my extras on TE at a price which makes them appear among the cheapest available, and I still make at least a small profit.
For sure. I saw some pairs up on Ticketmaster in row 2 during the playoffs so I'm hoping maybe some didn't renew or they mix in some seats into the selection pool. I'd consider row 3 but people leaning is a big problem up there and I'd like a good view of the game still. I sat row 3 in 418 for a game during the playoffs and noticed that issue.
Like I said it's not just about next year as it is the years following. I've got no reason to believe prices wouldn't keep shooting up. And I'd consider trying to move to 224 or 211 so I'm dead center and those always sell for a premium but I know that raising the prices on the sections that are dead center would be the next msg trick they'll pull.
For the 2012 Winter Classic (NYR vs PHI) the emails went out in October 24, 2011 that MSG/NYR would be contacting season subscribers around the week of Oct 31, 2011. Then another email that they would be contacting us at a later date based on tenure and availability. The date I got offered tickets was 11/29/11 and I purchased my tickets on 11/30/11.
Depending on what the prices are, you maybe better off buying in the secondary markets.
Don't buy their hype
I wouldn't be surprised if MSG didn't start pricing the side the logo at center ice is facing the right way higher than the other side. They'll find anything.
I ended up not going to the Winter Classic in Philly because It was so $$$ to make travel plans by the time tickets were released (was not in NY at the time) to STH's. I did however, go to the Stadium Series games.
We had the same seats for both games and the guy who sat the row behind us was livid because he paid full price to go to both games for a couple of seats. He ended up purchasing the 4 seats right next to his original 2 off of stubhub for less than he paid for face value during the initial onsale.
The stadium series games were SUPER COLD so that could have been a factor. But I can't imagine a game a citi field vs the Sabres being "high demand"
