Soooooooo who wants to road trip it to Ottawa? :D

I highly recommend it. Myself and a few buddies went up last Saturday for game 2. It's such an easy, cheap trip. Ticket, hotel (Airbnb) and gas/tolls cost $185 total.

For anyone going, I recommend staying in/near Byward Market. It's a little outside Downtown Ottawa but there's tons of bars/pubs/shops/etc. and it's a real lively area. The outcome of game 2 really put a damper on things but we still managed to have a real good time, all things considered. If I didn't have to work I'd 100% go back tomorrow.

So i'm leaving for Ireland for a week tomorrow night, I emailed my rep asking if it was possible he could unlock my tickets to print a day early since I woudn't have access to a computer. Of course he just ignores me.

Love our great customer service.

Why do you need to print them if you are going to Ireland? Can't you just forward them to whoever you are giving them to? Or do you need to post them on SH?

I'm not going to get into a bickering match over this. The Rangers were not good last year and nearly got swept out of the first round.

They were better this year but got lucky with their playoff draw and came in 4th in their own division. You're telling me that justifies how much they raised prices and the way they did it is OK (making people pay for next seasons tickets or your playoff tickets/discounts go bye)?

This team is treating their season tickets holders like cattle instead of clients. We've gone over this time and time again. I can't imagine someone who disagrees. Even if you're still a holder, look at what other teams offer for their season ticket holders and then come back and tell me you're happy with the "perks" you get as a Rangers fan.

Hell, look at the knicks. They have literally the same ownership and play in the same building and they treat their fans significantly better than the Rangers.

I am sure this has been talked about a lot - but I can tell you that as a long time STH - they don't give a crap. The feeling is that there thousands right behind you if you don't like it. Retention means nothing to them. for the first 15 years all I got was the yearbook! You go to other arenas - they treat you so much differently.
I understand that they want to get in on the action of the resale market. The fees are not enough, their aim with these increases is to take most of the spread and the fees.
My first inkling that something was up - was during the season, I saw prime games available on TM for outrageous prices - close to $200 for a Penguins game. I get it, the teams want in on the action - but to put the hard squeeze on is pretty slimy, but they do it because they can.
A lot of people I know are NOT renewing., long timers as well. Sad stuff.

Same here. What I really had problems with was that they changed rules on the fly. Pure Greed.

No playoff tix unless you renew (or in some cases pay in entirety).

Max 8 tickets in all accounts (well, Hey NYR - you guys begged us to buy as many as we want during the lean years and many of us took the risks and sucked it up for years; now that demand is high you changed the rules and want them back? and raise prices double digits every year to squeeze any tenured benefits of good value seats?)

Screw them. I will always be a NYR fan but the way they treated their long time STHs I will never forget and what goes around will come around. If they lose tomorrow or Thursday, and the team/Hank declines, they will come begging again.

Any guess as to how low the get-in will be for tomorrow?

right now it's $190 with about 2000 on SH.

2K is a lot, but tomorrow morning is the telling predictor. If there's over 1K left tomorrow around 9-10AM, you'll be able to hold out and probably get one somewhere between 110-125. Game 3 dipped to $100 last minute, so if you held out until 6:50 (7PM start) you got rewarded. That's usually the case but not always and it's certainly a risk if you 100% want to go. If you're 50/50, you can take that risk.

My guess is we'll see a standard holding market for most of the day between $140-$160. Buyers are holding out right now. No one wants to see their team eliminated.

You might see sub-$100 prices. The forecast changed - so that may help (it was supposed to be gross out, which is often impetus for commuters to go home).

However, there are over 2000 tickets on StubHub, 1700 on TMResale (I am sure a lot of which are also on StubHub), and the game is not sold out. Granted a sell out means nothing anymore as the prices are almost identical to comparable seats on the aftermarket, but still there are probably a good 500+ primary tickets available.

It's a Tuesday, they're facing elimination, they aren't a team who won game 5 to keep their hopes alive, rather they blew yet another win, so the incentive of supporting a team fighting for its life is not as prevalent.

I think the market could crash hard.

If you do not want to be there for game 6, selling today is a must. If you're buying, wait until tomorrow. There should be some deals floating around.

I'd be selling today under market value to make sure you're getting something. Otherwise, just go and have fun. It might be the last home game until October.

There's no way, I've seen this before prices will be strong doesn't matter if it's a self-elimination game. I'm expecting everything to get bought up tomorrow afternoon, I don't see tickets going for less than 150

You may be right, but it is just too much inventory.

Factor that in with a team that keeps shooting itself in the foot and it being a Tuesday, I am not confident.

I could be wrong.

there's a single in 420 now for $167 on SH

What's effectively happening is that they are slowly converting the crowd from a fanbase that follows the team in and out to a corporate & tourist crowd. What goes around comes around is right for an actual fan but they don't care because a tourist will buy your seat when you leave. Such is the nature of owning a team on top of the most expensive real estate in the world. It's pretty sh***y for long time fans especially those who stuck around in the bad years. You'll still have plenty of actual fans holding accounts but they will be selling more and more of their games to justify the cost.

It's max 4 seats by the way, with a grandfathering in of up to 6 seats total.

it's coming very soon where there will be mass exodus of SH holders...when the team eventually declines and starts missing the playoffs there will be MSG armegeddon and they will come calling us on the phone begging for our business...I will then tell them where to stick it

the whole point of being a SH it to reap the benefits of playoff games....if you know your team has declined and will not make the playoffs anymore it's ok to be a SH and support your team which is what I did during the dark ages 1998-2004...as long as the seats are reasonably priced it's all good...but when your asking a SH to pay $185 per seat for a lower bowl seat for a team that will not make the playoffs and is rebuilding is asking way too much...these current prices are not sustainable for a non playoff rebuilding team that inevitably will happen in a few years...at that point there will be a mass exodus of SH holders and then our phones will be ringing off the hook for our business

Anyone know anybody looking for season tickets for next season? I am going abroad in January for long term (wish I knew this before I renewed). I have a pair in 208 and a pair in 217 both row 4. I will give up either pair for a full season and keep the other for myself.

Went to the game in Ottawa the other day. Wanted to jump from the roof of the building. Did buy great seats an hour before the game for $293 us including fees. Cheaper than 1 ticket here in NY. Nice arena, just way too far from downtown.
