how to fix the rangers offense in 5 steps

step 1: fire torts

step 2: sign zucc

step 3: free kreider

step 4: put gaborik on the right side

step 5: get rid of or severely limit the toi of the ****** players (stu, gilroy, emi, boyle, hayley)

lines would look like

hags-step-nash
zucc-richie-gabs
kreider-miller-callahan
pyatt-hayley-powe

that is a team that could easily role 4 lines consistently

OMG I SO FREAKING WISH!!!
Tortorella would never stand for such a thing tho haha.
Why would he keep the best line we had all year together (HAGS-STEP-NASH)?? No break them up.
Why would he wanna keep a young high energy line together that probably could score very nicely for a third line? :sarcasm:

It's both hilarious and outrageously depressing that you could basically predict exactly how the game would go after seeing those Enroth stats this afternoon. Rangers would get 30+ shots, maybe a goal, and lose.

The lack of heart and killer instinct has been lingering all season. Yes it is concerning.

Big game Thursday. Let's see the response.

Probably will come out flat again. I saw no anything in this game except from 2 players, being Stepan and Nash

Just when you think this team is getting their sh-t together, they crap the bed.

This team should have been jacked up to play........and every Ranger should have been laying the body on every sabre from the drop off the puck for what happened to Brad Richards

Worst case scenario, john scott chases around each ranger and tries to hit them...........but to no avail, since even my grandmother can skate better than John Scott.

My point, they sucked ass tonight.......something is still missing.

The most frustrating thing about being a Rangers fan is the predictability. Every year. The power play. The offense. Playing backup goalies. Lack of consistency throughout the season.

I know most of us want Torts gone but when does the axe fall on MR. Glen the savior Sather? How many coaches have we seen go through here under his watch? 5?
I know it will never happen because he is butt buddies with Mr. Dolan and has carte blanche

I thought Haley played well. He showed some puck skills and his strong skating is evident.

He was good. He's proven he should stay for now. But he should be very far away from the top-6. And I'd like to see him drop 'em more. I'm sick of bringing up fighters from the A, and they come up here and do nothing.

Have to believe when the game was 1-1 if Haley took a run at Ott it might have swayed the game :dunno:

It's coming down to it either being we have a bad group or the coaching...

I just think its unrealistic expectation this year. Rangers are just not dynamic offensively to be a serious contender.

You are probably right but if this team is able to wake the **** up soon you never know. I think the line change ups is a major reason for the offensive struggles. We get to a 4 game winning streak and then you change the top 2 lines??

This team has no heart, so don't expect that

By no means am I defending him, but I wonder if McDonagh is still feeling residual effects from the hits he took from Lucic and Pacioretty this season. He hasn't quite been the same since the Montreal game, sans Sunday against Washington.

Yep totally agree. You win four in a row and you change the lines???

Maybe, al;ways a concern. Sigh.

Take this as a warning to the team... play like scared babies, this is what happens.

I agree that Torts has made very questionable coaching decisions in the season. He has done it twice:

a)first time was after the boston game where the Rangers won, and Boyle was reintroduce to line up. Screwed up everything right there.

b)Reintroducing Richards in the line up he messed with the Hagelin-Step-Nash line

For a guy who preaches he "wants to get out of the way of the players" he certainly doesn't seem to practice it.

What am I reading here? My goodness. We played well and lost. Looked like a loss from last season.

The sun will come up tomorrow. This team will make the playoffs. Moving on.

He needed to get the Beaver back in there.

Gosh, this team is so predictable. Inconsistent. Can't score on backups. Everyone in a slump can get out of it. Outshoot a team and still lose, because no quality chances are ever created.

We need to win on Thursday. Because there's not a snowball's chance in hell that we win on Saturday.

Yea I definitely agree here. He has ruined two winning streaks by changing the line ups this season. I think you have to give Hags/Richards/Gaborik a try for a couple games. They had great chemistry last season. Rich and Gabby need Hagelin to forecheck. I think Stepan and Nash will create plenty of chances together on the 2nd line together regardless of whoever the left winger is. Maybe try Nash at LW and Callahan at RW. Whatever Torts does, keep the lines together for multiple games so they can develop chemistry.

Seriously some people need to chill the **** out. We win this game 9/10 on any other night if we play as well as we did tonight.

Nothing that ever works, sticks with Tortorella.

Know that now.

Hes such a stubborn ****.

"I dont have to adjust, the players need to. I do what I want."

Richards has certainly been improving the last couple games. But man I want him as far away from Hagelin as you can get.

He overuses him at every opportunity. Hags gets stuck having to do all the work down low between Gabs and Richards not giving a lot of support. When paired with Stepan, Hags gets a guy who is constantly shifting and looking to take the pressure off of Carl..

I think they need to try Pyatt again, and call up Krieder.
