Again the "calm down you are over reacting" crowd is missing it. It's not the loss. It's how they lost. It's how they've been losing. It's that they've been losing the same way they were earlier in the season and they don't seem to be fixing that. That's the cause for concern.

They sucked alright, but that doesn't mean that Torts can go ******* on Sam. Sam has long been a very respected member of the organization, and really, around the media in general. Torts-not so much.
 
torts get another year... this year was chaos with the shortened season.. i think he has next year and if not he'll be gone.. i mean since hes been here the team has improved drastically so i mean he deserves more of a chance.. its up to the players to respond.. lets stop making excuses for these bad games.. and point towards him.. the guys got the most out of young players and the team..
 
Gaborik's 35% effort + Tort's 1940's style system + Hank's soft goals x BoyleHalpernGilroyAsham = piece of **** team. Disgusted with our squad. For **** sake give them two games to play to their advantages. I'll be at the game in Pittsburgh on Saturday and quite honestly I don't even want to go if this team decides not to show up and plays like tonight

Not going to go overboard on the game but do want to comment on this. I am a big Torts guy and although I think anyone who was going to ask him questions after that one was going to receive the same hostility, Sammy deserves better. His performance has dipped in recent years but he has been the voice of the Rangers for decades. Don't subject him to this stuff. Not that anyone should be, but Giannone is between the benches the entire game. Why not let him handle this? Or Cerny who seems to be around to interview the players all the time after practices.

No, he HASN'T gotten the most out of them AT ALL. He's gotten the most they can do under his system though, which you're right about the hammer falling on the coaching. It worked when our team had grinders. We brought Nash Gabby and Richie in. Stepan is coming. Kreider, Miller. They have skill... Guys like Pyatt, Asham, Powe... Those are our grinders....Callahan is a powerful player with skill. Not just a grind. We need a system change, our PP shouldn't SUCK ASS like it does either. That is on coaching.

Gaborik, Nash, Lundqvist, Richards, Callahan, Girardi, McDonagh, Staal, etc.

This team shouldnt be flopping up and down the standings with players like that.

Its on you Torts.

Most talented team you've ever had. Im sure there are other coaches more suited for this team.
 
Sather isn't going to fire Torts in the shortened season. But after they miss the playoffs this season his job is in Jeopardy. He'll get a training camp.

This. You can play good defense and open up the system at the same time. It seems that Torts thinks that they are mutually exclusive. They're not. Ask the Wings or the Hawks, for example. Hell, even the Blues. Very underrated offense over there, which gets the most out of everybody, not just the grinders. Stepan, Richards, Gaborik, Nash. They're not grinders. Hagelin can play any type of game you want him to play. Callahan too, to an extent, only if you don't out too much offensive pressure on him.

Anyone find it funny how Joe said at the beginning of the game, that they didn't focus on offense in their last practice, but defense instead? Our defense sucked and our offense was even worse.

Since Torts was on a crusade to crazy land anyway, Sammy should have asked him what the **** Haley was doing on the first line. :shakehead

That being said, this team should have the record it has with the talent available to Torts. He's making terrible decisions game in and game out.
